The idea

The objectives
Main objectives
• Involve students in a concrete project
• Stimulate their creativity and their interest in school and school-
related matters
• Increase their self-confidence and self-esteem
• Improve understand of the organization of a commercial activity
• Become aware of responsibilities (money and supplies)
• Work in small teams with specific responsibilities for each team
member
• Motivate them to adopt appropriate attitudes and apply the
sales techniques they learned

The objectives
Additional objective :
Generate profit in order to
• Reimburse the school’s investment
• Buy equipment for the sales techniques class
• Prepare a trip to Paris to observe the windows of successful
shops and meet with window designers

o Market research of the needs
o Establish the list of supplies
o Prepare the communication material
o Display the supplies
o Sell the snacks and drinks
o Count the proceeds and deposit them
in the school safe
o Store the supplies safely
o Re-order the supplies
o Do the book keeping
o Financial and qualitative reporting to
the school management

E-COP – Project no. 167127-LLP-1-2009-1-IT-KA1-KA1ECETB Kick-off meeting, Milan, February 25 and 26, 2010 2 The idea A need • Students from the school need to have a practical and concrete project to stimulate their learning curve • Teachers want to link practical experience with the theory taught at school ..... and • Students, teachers, administrative staff need snacks and drinks during recess Creation of a shop with snacks, hot and cold drinks entirely run by students under the supervision of 3 teachers on the premises of the school

E-COP – Project no. 167127-LLP-1-2009-1-IT-KA1-KA1ECETB Kick-off meeting, Milan, February 25 and 26, 2010 4 The objectives Main objectives • Involve students in a concrete project • Stimulate their creativity and their interest in school and school- related matters • Increase their self-confidence and self-esteem • Improve understand of the organization of a commercial activity • Become aware of responsibilities (money and supplies) • Work in small teams with specific responsibilities for each team member • Motivate them to adopt appropriate attitudes and apply the sales techniques they learned

E-COP – Project no. 167127-LLP-1-2009-1-IT-KA1-KA1ECETB Kick-off meeting, Milan, February 25 and 26, 2010 6 The tasks involved The students • The main actors in the project • They do it all : o Market research of the needs o Establish the list of supplies o Prepare the communication material o Display the supplies o Sell the snacks and drinks o Count the proceeds and deposit them in the school safe o Store the supplies safely o Re-order the supplies o Do the book keeping o Financial and qualitative reporting to the school management The teachers • Supervise the activities of the students • Link the activity with the courses • Help finding second-hand equipment • Evaluate the students The school management • Provide the space in the school • Provide a loan without interest of €400 to be reimbursed at the end of the academic year
