Lately there have been a rash of alkaline water filters to hit the market, like Ultra Water, with the promises of the best water and a multitude of health benefits. But can a ten or twelve inch filter filled with minerals replicate the same benefits as natural spring water or ionized water from a water ionizer? Sadly, no.

Alkaline Water Filter
1. Alkaline Water Filters Versus Water Ionizers

Lately there have been a rash of alkaline water filters to hit the market, like Ultra Water, with the
promises of the best water and a multitude of health benefits. But can a ten or twelve inch filter filled
with minerals replicate the same benefits as natural spring water or ionized water from a water ionizer?
Sadly, no.
How an Alkaline Water Filter Works
The way that an alkaline water filter works is by packing a filter cartridge with alkaline minerals, like
magnesium, calcium, and potassium so that the tap water that passes through it will pick up these
alkaline minerals and become more alkaline.
These alkaline minerals are a great, but very expensive way, to raise the pH of acidic water coming
from a well or the tap of some places in the Northwest US. So, if you have acidic water, you should
definitely add some alkaline minerals to your water. But I wouldn't recommend buying Ultra Water or
some other gimmicky alkaline water filter because it will cost you too much. You just need a calcite or
corosex filter and it shouldn't cost you more than $30 and should be changed about every nine months.
Why You Probably Don't Need an Alkaline Water Filter
Most of us living in the US do not need any extra minerals in our water because our water is hard.
States like Arizona or Florida have so many alkaline minerals in their tap water that the pH is already
an 8 or a 9. So adding even more alkaline minerals to these water sources would be a total waste of
money.
Virtually every other state has enough alkaline minerals already. In my ten years of experience
distributing EOS water ionizers at www.waterforlifeusa.com the only places I've encountered that had
soft water in need of more minerals were parts of Oregon and Washington state. Also, some wells were
low on minerals and needed an alkaline water filter.
In many states, especially in the Southern part of the US, the water has so many alkaline minerals in it
that it is considered hard water. Hard water has scale in it that is formed by magnesium and calcium
sticking together. This scale is not good for your pipes, your appliances or your body. If you drink
water that is too hard, you could develop kidney stones.
So, adding an alkaline water filter to hard water may actually be detrimental to your health!
Why Some Alkaline Water Filters Are SO Expensive
Ultra Water is sold through a mlm company that jacks up the price over $100 because they have many
levels of commissions to pay out. Many of these other gimmicky alkaline water filters are also sold
through mlm companies. So, steer clear unless you fancy yourself running a business selling over-priced
and mostly unnecessary products.
The way that many of these gimmicky alkaline water filters justify their high price tag is because they
claim their water has antioxidants in it. The antioxidants in natural water are formed by ions from the
2. sun interacting with hydrogen in the water to form hyroxl ions. These hydroxl ions are one of the best
direct antioxidants that you can put in your body that will detoxify you and convert free radicals
bouncing around in your cells into oxygen that your body absorbs as oxygen, giving you energy!
As you can't bottle the sun, the antioxidants in a gimmicky alkaline water filter are formed in a much
different way. They add tourmaline or nano silver to the water, which produce what's called far
infrared radiation, or FIR. As you might suspect, this FIR is no where near the strength of the sun. So,
while some antioxidants are formed from the ions in this FIR, it's not the same as drinking natural
water energized by the sun.
That's the main reason you don't see published peer reviewed clinicals on the water produced by these
alkaline water filters. They simply don't stack up to natural or ionized water. A mild antioxidant will
have very little health benefit to the average person who is very toxic and has a sextillion parts of free
radicals damaging their cells at any given moment.
A Water Ionizer Produces More Antioxidants than an Alkaline Water Filter
You need powerful antioxidants. And you need to drink water that's proven to improve your health. If
you go to pubmed.gov or Google Scholarly and search for electrolzed water, also known as ionized
water, you'll find 40 years of published, peer reviewed clinicals. These clinicals demonstrate time and
time again that electrolyzed or ionized water produced from a water ionizer, like the EOS water
ionizers at www.waterforlifeusa.com , lower the oxidative stress levels in our cells.
Why is lowering oxidative stress important? Because oxidative stress, caused by free radical damage,
is the root cause or strongly related to virtually EVERY illness and disease that we face as humans. So,
when you lower oxidative stress levels with a powerful antioxidant like the hydroxl ions produced by a
water ionizer, you are literally making your cells healthier, which will improve ANY health condition
you are facing.
Plus an EOS water ionizer filters out 99.99% of the impurities in water, making your drinking water
pure, clean, safe, and delicious to drink!
Finally, at only 2 cents a liter, water from an EOS water ionizer is MUCH cheaper than a gimmicky
alkaline water filter that has to be completely replaced every 9 months to a year. An EOS water ionizer,
using the cool running switched mode power supply and highest quality plates in the world, will last
years and years.
So, when it comes to the best water for you and your family, skip the hyped up and over-priced alkaline
