Connections PINK
rather than asking users to add to network and then taking them to another page for following we just have one people adding task. the recommendations are personalized by peer relationship and similarity in interests
top row is
1.) Admin featured followed by your Manager, your Peers with similar tags, and popular experts with similar tags, and other colleagues with similar tags
2.) On the back of the card you can see why the person was recommended
1) users can exit anytime and save progress for later
2) When users finish they get a nice congratulations and taken to Home Page
3) they’ll immediately see the result of the work they just did as their people and communities populate their feed
and an automated hopscotch tour of the home page is waiting for them
Files and sync enhancements - this design is still being developed and subject to change.
Features
As a user I want to select a top level folder in My Files and mark it for sync so that I can take contents of entire folders offline and keep them in sync with the server.
(Folders only on desktop, mobile sync selected files only)
As an admin I want to be able to use a different file storage architecture so that I can enhance performance and access times for my end users (Cleversafe)
Pink is a journey, not a destination. As we look towards the full realization of Pink, these elements pave the way. This list of midterm 2017 deliveries prepares Connections for the future. Orient Me, Files, new user onboarding, and new and improved Community experience will all be available on-prem and on the cloud in midterm 2017. This is evidence that Pink is on the way.

Pink is about simplicity. The number of moving parts and technology components in Connections today can be overwhelming. Pink will keep things simple. Fewer components means easier deployments and monitoring, maintenance, and operations. We are going to relentlessly eradicate things we do not need to keep Pink simple and easy to work with.
These are the core benefits of Connections Pink: continuous updates, customizable, about flexibility and choice, and easily expandable.
Philosophy of our approach – Continue to provide the social tools – communities, blogs, wikis, forums, status updates – that have made Connections leading enterprise social network platform, while re-imagining collaboration to adapt for future need. Now we’re taking a fresh look at our 10-year old solution, both in terms of:
Reimagining the front end that people use every day
Reinventing the backend, with positive benefits both for IT and for the end user.
Connections Pink - Key Themes:
Designed for usability – IBM Connections PINK is designed using IBM Design Thinking practices, focusing on consumer applications as a benchmark
Focused on the people you collaborate with by Re-envisioning the way profiles works to make it easier to see where people fit into the organization, easier to see the content or communities that you have in common or that will be most helpful for you (e.g., pinned content), and easier to build personal connections with coworkers. One such feature: the ability keep personal notes associated with people or content.
Focused on content you collaborate on – We are re-envisioning the way content is created, stored and shared. Goal is to vastly simplify and remove friction in how content is created, how easy it is to find and retrieve and organize, and how easy it is to collaborate on that content. For example, today, want to create a blog post, need to start by deciding where to put it, navigating to that community, etc. Now can create content first.
Focused on engagement – ICEC simplifies the process of connecting employees with the organization, making it easy for internal communications, HR and business and business unit leaders to get important information in front of employees while incorporating all of the collaborative capabilities you’ve come to expect from Connections, in a familiar user environment.
New low code/no code application environment – Notes/Domino pioneered the “groupware” category based on the value that can be derived from making low code/no code tools available to development and citizen developers. Looking to bring forward and reinvent for modern day with offerings such as “LiveGrid” for Connections.
Inherently Cognitive – Already begun shipping cognitive capabilities with Orient Me features in Connections 6. That’s just the beginning. Making use of underlying interaction data. Understand people and context to provide recommendations, bots, etc.
Built for agility and future need – Connections Pink is built on a microservices architecture, allowing for more frequent updates, no downtime, and flexibility in where data is stored. Additionally, Pink is shipping APIs for extensibility and integration, allowing 3rd party providers to create entirely new solutions off of and integrated into Connections.
Work the way you want
That seamless experience is shaped by a few things. First, IBM Collaboration Solutions believes that clients should control where data lives – whether that is behind a firewall, at a third-party location, or in a secure, multi-tenant facility. Secondly, our solutions are optimized for digital business through continuous delivery models and an end-to-end try and buy experience that will keep users engaged. Finally, we recognize that clients need solutions that help people work in the language and context of their profession and that “one size does not fit all” solutions must be easily customizable.
