2. Sketch Development
• The brief required us to
design a multi-
functional chair and
table set out of
cardboard.
• This is the initial
response to the project.
• A couple of scattered
ideas and responses to
the brief are seen in the
picture on the right.
5. Solution 1
• This is the design that
was considered.
• After carefully thinking
about all the aspects
of this design, it was
decided that this
solution needs to be
modified.
6. Final Solution
• This is the final
solution to the brief.
• It is almost the same
except that the box
under the table has
been transformed into
a multifunctional
stool.
• The second picture
shows measurements
of the furniture.
7. Development.
• The first picture on
the left shows how
the cardboard will be
folded to form the
table.
• The second picture
shows the packaging
which is stylish, flat-
pack and easily
movable.
8. Material.
• The furniture will be made
of double corrugated
cardboard.
• The first picture shows
single corrugated
cardboard. It is not a
perfect choice as it is not
strong enough to carry a
person’s weight.
• The second picture shoes
double corrugated
cardboard which will be
used for this project as it
is stronger.
9. Pattern.
This is the pattern that will be
printed on the cardboard.
It will give the furniture a stylish
look and will add colour to the
solution.
11. Final Scale Model 1
This is the final outcome of the project. In the above picture, you can
see the stool which is multi-functional, as it opens from one side and
you can store newspapers, books, remotes, pens, pencils etc in it
and sit on it at the same time.
12. Final Scale Model 2
This picture shows the table and stool together.
13. Final Scale Model 3
This is how the final solution looks like. It can be used for working,
studying, sitting, storing objects etc.
