Genre –
IGNstarts off by talking about the genre of the game. The reviewer points out
the obvious genreof the game, which makes him, carry on talking about how
good the open-world game actually is. He says thatThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
falls into a massiveopen-world genre. Then he goes onto talking more about
how good the open-world is, and how it makes you wantto play more due to
the fact, that you still haveloads of the map you still have to explore. The
reviewer also points out that it’s a roleplaying experience, which means that
he has pointed out another genre that the game would fall into; this is because
there is loads of roleplaying throughoutthe game, which makes it more
enjoyable. The reviewer points out that the game is very good because its
linked to these genres, this makes the audience believe that the game is really
enjoyablebecause it links into the open-world adventureand action
roleplaying genres.
Target Audience –
IGNuses intellectual language, which makes the audience a higher age. The
target audience for the IGNreview would be around the age 25 – 35, due to
the fact that it uses complex words such as; ramifications, narcoleptic,
gargantuan and monumental, you wouldn’tsee young children these words
because they haveprobably learnt them yet, which will makethe audience
seem older due to the fact that they haveused bigger words to express
thoughts and feelings throughoutthe text. Overall wesee that, reviews that
come fromIGNare older because they go moreinto depth than other reviews,
this is becausethey have an older audience, which looks at the reviews. Italso
has a higher audience becauseyou don’t really see children go and read

because they are a working class, they would be people like plumbers,
electricians etc. The review would focus on males due to the fact that the
game is a male-based character, which is trying to save his daughter.
Narrative/ Storyline–
The reviewer talks about the main storylineand then goes onto explaining on
what you have to do on it to complete the story. The reviewer talks about
what the main objective is to basically complete the story, he makes surethat
the audience understands on whatthe main objective is to complete the story.

ultimately the least fulfilling part of The Witcher 3” This shows the audience

links the game to the previous Witcher, which was The Witcher 2: Assassins of
Kings, he relates to the game because he said that the game is like a “Wild
goosechase” becausethe main objective of the game is to find a certain
person. Also we that the reviewer talks about the side quests, you are able to
do, he says “thedecisions you make, both big and small, can legitimately
change the world around you” we see that side quests are very important
throughoutthe story line due to the fact, it changethe world around you
which means you have to be very carefulon what decisions you make.
Characters –
The reviewer links back to the characters when his trying to explain the main
objective of the story. He talks about a couple of characters throughoutthe
whole review; we see that he talks about people like Ciri, Yennifer and Geralt.
These people are someof the main characters dueto the fact, that Geralt is
actually the character that you have to control. The reviewer says that
“Controlling Geralt feels tangibly badass with every successfulfight” this shows
the audience that actually being able to play as him, would make you feel
absolutely amazing due to the fact that you are able to kill everyoneand you
are basically unstoppable fromother people beating you in a fact. We see that
the characters also useWitchcraft to fight for themselves. The reviewer also
talks aboutall of the new combat skills that havebeen added to the latest
game. He says, “Thenew skill systemprovides a god deal of flexibility while still

reviewer has enjoyed the new skill systembecauseits more flexible for the
player becauseyou are able to become anything that you want, for example
there is many builds that you can do on the game which makes it very
interesting.
Gameplay –
The reviewer talks about loads of different gameplay throughoutthe game, we
see that he talks about the roleplaying choices, he says that “Relative to The
Witcher 2, I found that Witcher 3’s RPG systems havebeen streamlined in
some ways” wesee that the reviewer understands thatthe roleplaying system
has been changed around, this will make the game much better because you
will be more flexible than before. He also says that “In both cases though, the
result is the same: a better experience.” The reviewer says thatthe new game
is a better experience because they have added new stuff, but the full result of
the game is still the sameas Witcher 2 but it’s a better experience, which
basically means that Witcher 3 is a better game.
Platforms –
The reviewer talks about the side effects and the positives of the game on
different consoles, he says thaton PS4 and Xbox Onehas a technical
performance. He also says that while the gaming is running on PS4 and Xbox
one, you get around 30 frames per second but its sometimes too much to ask
because the switching throughoutthe two main maps of the game that makes
minor glitches do pop up fromtime to time. This shows us that the game on
PS4 and XboxOne, havesome glitches while playing the game. “Thankfully, PC
Players can expect a lot more. On a GTX 980, Witcher 3 ran at 60 frames per
second at all times on ultra settings” This means that the game is better ran on
PC, if you have the perfect parts for the PC. This also tells us that it gives PC
gamers a better experience on playing The Witcher 3 on a PC rather, than any
of the consoles.
Personalrecommendation of reviewer –
As a final verdict, he thinks that the game is very enjoyablebut he does get
bored throughoutthe plot because it isn’tthat much fun, he says that the

This means that he has enjoyed playing the game even though there is some
features that he doesn’tlike.

Gamespottells the audience straightaway on what the game is about and
what genre it would fall into. The genre that Gamestop spots out is that the
game is a “fantastic role-playing game” this means that the game focuses on
the role-playing part of the game. This also relates to that the game is very
enjoyablewhile role-playing due to the fact that you can make your own
decisions. “Open-world role-playing game” We see that the reviewer has
talked about playing on a open-world map, which will make the game more
exciting due to the fact, that you can go anywherewhereyou wantto because
its an open-world. The reviewer says that the game is very good becauseit’s an
open-world and you can makeyour own choices throughoutthe game.

The target audience for the review from Gamespotwould be around the ages
of 25 – 35 becauseit uses loads of intellectual language, which will make the
audience higher aged. The review uses big words such as: profane, convulsive,
trudge and rambunctious. There are many more words that would be different
for a young audience to understand, I pointed someout which the reviewer
used which would make it more differentfor a younger audience to read the

woman sentenced to death, doomed to starveafter being chained to a rock”
This indicates that you can go and do different things while justnot focusing on
the main storyline.

talks aboutGeralt, Ciri, and Roach. “The connections between Ciri and Geralt
proves to be the story’s strongestdriving force,” This shows theaudience that
Ciri and Geralt are two very close characters becausehe is trying to find her
when she gets lost. Geralt is a very strong character who is very powerfuland
who would do anything to get Ciri back. Characters are very important
throughoutthe review due to the fact that they are the main things of the
whole game. “Geralt is no mage, but he still calls on the powers of magic to
assisthim in combat” This shows us, thatthe reviewer has really got into the
game and that he understands, Geraltvery well which means that Geralt is a
very good character to actually be.
Gameplay –
The reviewer says, “Character advancementis substantially improved over the
previous games” This means that the gameplay of the game has been
improved since the last game, because this will make surethat the audience
understands thatthe game has been improved fromthe last ones. “Certain
upgraders, however, allow you to spray a stream of flames for as long as your
energy supply supports it.” The reviewer has indicated this to make surethat
the audience that is reading the review actually understands thatthe gameplay
of the game has been changed fromthe pervious game. The gameplay is very

that it isn’t the same.

The reviewer starts off talking about how beautiful the game is on every
platform, then he goes on to say that there is many bugs and visual glitches in
the game which are annoying while you are trying to play the game. “Solving a
quest’s subtasks in a particular order caused the game to stick at a perpetual
loading screen” Here is one of the bugs that he got while he was playing the
game. Another visual glitch that he had experienced was when he was inside a
building and Geralt’s hair was still blowing like it was in the wind. “Along with
occasionalconsole framerate jitters” He says that this is very annoying but
depending on your level of tolerance, you may be able to handle it and actually
enjoy the amazing adventurethat you are put through. He also tells the
audience that he was rarely disturbed by the glitches that he encountered
because he was too engaged into the game. The reviewer has only played on
PlayStation 4, which means that he hasn’ttested the game out on any other
console, he also indicates that he played over 100 hours on the game to make
surethat he has completed the whole thing.
Personalrecommendation of reviewer –
The reviewer added many points on why the game is good, he added things
like, Phenomenal, beautiful open world that juxtaposes violencewith beauty,
this shows theaudience that the game is very beautiful and that he enjoyed
playing the game. He only added one bad point which was “Some disruptive
bugs” this shows us thatthere is somebugs which actually occur throughout
the game. He gavethe game a 10/10 review, due to the fact it’s a very
enjoyableand beautiful looking game. Another comment that he said was
“There’s so much to do—almost all of it brimming with quality” this makes the
audience want to play the game more becauseit tells them its very good and
will definitely make surethat you don’t get bored throughoutthe game
because you will be fighting and exploring the amazing looking game. This is
very effective for the audience becauseit will make surethat they go out and
buy the game because the game is getting very good reviews. Also this will
make more people go out and buy the game because they haven’t experienced
anything like this game before.
