Led bulbs- efficient lighting for your home

  1. 1. Light emitting diodes or LED lights are a great invention which has changed the way we thought about light bulbs. Though they are not a new invention! You might remember those remote control toy cars or those Christmas decoration lights; well they both used LED lights, though on a small scale. LED light bulbs are not referred to as the future of lighting for nothing! These bulbs have revolutionised home lighting forever. Compare this to your regular incandescent or fluorescent bulbs, LEDs offer superb benefits over them! Plus, LEDs are green that means they help in saving the planet!
  2. 2. So how beneficial are LED lights compared to regular or conventional bulbs? Let's see the huge benefits that they offer:
  3. 3. • Longevity: How long do incandescent and fluorescent bulbs last on an average? Two months? Three months? At best, regular bulbs can last a maximum of six months. But you might think six months is a long time for a bulb to last! Hold on to your horses, because an LED bulb can last anything between ten to fifteen years! Yes, more than a decade.
  4. 4. • Efficiency: LED lights are amazingly efficient! A regular bulb only converts 10% of the electricity into light. So in the end you end up paying for electricity that's wasted. LED bulbs on the other hand are very efficient, converting 90% of the electricity they consume into light!
  5. 5. • Eco Friendly: Since LED bulbs do not contain any harmful elements like Mercury, they are eco friendly and help in saving our planet. Incandescent and fluorescent bulbs on the other hand contain Mercury and are very harmful for our environment.
  6. 6. • Minimises Fire Hazard: LED lights emit cold light because unlike conventional bulbs which use electricity to convert heat into light, LEDs use electricity to stir up electrons which then produce light! So that means cooler temperatures and a minimum risk of fire. • Flexible: LED bulbs have a flexible design which means they can be combined into any shape for producing efficient lighting. Also, you can easily use it for mood lighting too!
