Date 19th April 2015 Class Year 2 Pintar Number of pupils 20 pupils Time 8.20 am – 8.50 am (30 minutes) Theme World of Knowledge Topic Growing Plants Focused Skills Listening and Speaking Integrated skills Writing Level Intermediate Content Standard 1.1 By the end of the 6-year primary school, pupils will be able to pronounce words and speak confidently with the correct stress, rhythm and intonation. 1.2 By the end of the 6-year primary school, pupils will be able to listen and respond appropriately in formal and informal situations for a variety of purposes. Learning Standard 1.1.1 Able to listen and respond to stimulus given with guidance: g) oral blending and segmenting 1.1.4 Able to talk about a stimulus with guidance 1.2.2 Able to listen to and follow: a) simple instructions in the classroom Learning Outcomes At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to: i. To pronounce the words hoe, rake, gloves, seeds, flower, trowel correctly. ii. To spell the words hoe, rake, gloves, seeds, flower, trowel correctly. STAGES CONTENT TEACHING AND LEARNING STRATEGIES REMARKS (RATIONALE, TEACHING RESOURCES) Set Induction (± 3 minutes) The lyrics: Dig, dig, dig the earth, Then you plant your seeds, A gentle rain, A bright sunshine, Will help your flower grow. ( sing using row, row, row your boat) 1. The teacher demonstrate the song with body movement. 2. The pupils follows the teacher. 3. The teacher correct the pupil’s pronunciation. 4. The teacher relates the topic with the topic today. 1. To prepare the pupils for the lesson. 2. To encourage pupil to think and give their answer. Resources: Song Multiple Intelligences: Verbal-linguistic, thinking skills. Presentation ( ± 7 minutes) Suggested Pictures:  Hoe  Rake  Gloves  Trowel  Seeds  Flower WH-questions  Ok class, what can you see in this picture?  What picture is this? (refer appendix 1) 1. The teacher shows the pictures cards to pupils. 2. The teacher ask WH- questions. 3. The pupils answer based on their opinion and knowledge. 4.   • 3. Practice ( 10 minutes) Let’s Get Together Example: 1. The teacher distributes pictures and words cards randomly to each pupils. 2. The teacher will read loudly the words. 3. The pupils who hold the pictures or the words need to alert and stand up. 4. The pupils need to spell the words together. 5. To enhance listening skills. 6. To get the pupils to practice speaking skill. 7. Let pupils move their body freely. The teacher distributes the worksheet to each pupils. 2. The teacher read the word loudly. 3. The pupils need to focus and listen carefully to the teacher instructions. 4. The pupils need to circle the correct answer based on the teacher instructions. 5. The teacher check the answer with the pupils. 6. They need to pass up the worksheet. 1.
