1. How much do we as Chennaiites know about our city?
• Known as the "Detroit of India" for its automobile industry, Chennai is the biggest industrial and
commercial centre in South India, and a major cultural, economic and educational centre.
• Chennai is the sixth-largest city and fourth-most populous metropolitan area in the country.
• Chennai is the secondary financial hub in the country, after Mumbai.
• Chennai also has a great mixture of traditional, cultural and modern architecture. It’s also a city
which offers a vast diversity in exotic cuisines.
There are several places within Chennai, rich in history whose values have a great significance and many
among us do not have complete knowledge about the same. AID India and Bhumi plan to come
together to organize and host a one of its kind event - Chennai’s biggest Treasure Hunt. An event for
individuals (a group of 4) - corporates and college students, to participate and explore Chennai in the
most exciting and funniest way. So far there are 30 teams who have registered to take part in the event.
The hunt will begin at Marina beach at 6.30 AM take the teams through the cultural, traditional and
modern parts of Chennai leading to an enthralling finish at Grand Mall at Velachery around 2.00 PM. The
hunt will have tasks at 5 locations along with clues to crack before reaching the finish point, with hidden
traps in between to divert before getting to the destination. Surprise gifts worth Rs. 50,000/- awaits the
team which finishes first, and on the whole treasure’s worth Rs. 1,00,000/- to be discovered awaits.
There is a small participation fee of Rs. 2000/- per team for working professionals and Rs. 1000/- per
team for college students to enter the challenge. All these proceeds will be used at the education
centres run by AID India and Bhumi.
The event is done to create general awareness among the chennai people to learn about the issues on
education based by children and also would raise funds to support programs done by AID India and
Bhumi. The event is planned in a way to take the participants to some of the significant locations of
Chennai, and make them use public transport in stretches, make them do some tasks which would
involve activities on social responsibility etc., It's a fun filled event which will provide a roller coaster
experience to anyone who participate.
The participants will use the mode of public transport like MRTS, Bus and Metro to commute between
one location to other. In one stretch UBER has partnered to give a free ride to the participants. Naturals,
Paulsons, KPSN Consulting, Tuscana, Bargundy, Chennaiyil, Freeing India, Vibes, Fickle, Essensuals, Slam
and Grand Mall are the event partners who will provide the gift vouchers.
