Coverage Coordinator Training Manual
God’s vision
God Father is our creator who loves us so much. God sent His only beloved Son,
Jesus Christ, to die on the cross to pay the penalty of our sins. If anyone believes in
Jesus and receive Him as Savior, he will receive eternal life and abundant life in the
world.
God’s vision: What is God’s vision?
God wants to cover the whole world with the word of God so that all people in the
world may know the saving knowledge of the gospel. God’s vision is to reach all people
with the gospel to save them all.
•

Covering the whole world with the word of God. Habakkuk 2:14; For the
earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the
waters cover the sea.
What will look like when the coverage vision of God is accomplished?
Everyone in the world heard the gospel and knew God.
Hebrews 8:11; Everyone heard the gospel. No longer will be a man in the
world who does not know God and the gospel.

•

Everywhere in the world there will be believers and believer’s gathering as
church. Everywhere believers get together as church to worship
God(Revelation 7:9).

-What is the ultimate goal of the coverage vision of God?
Rev. 7:9-10 a great multitude of saved believers from every nation, tribe, people,
and language will be with God and worship God. The churches planted everywhere will
worship to glorify God. The whole world will be filled with the Glory of God that is the
ultimate vision of God.
God’s will: Why does God want to cover the world with the gospel? God desires to save
all people in the world.
•
•

Everyone everywhere knows God.1 Timothy 2:4, 2 Peter 3:9
God wants to save everyone everywhere.
God wants to cover everywhere with the gospel so that everyone may
know God and be saved.
God’s commandment: Jesus Christ commands His disciple to cover the world with the
gospel and disciples to fulfill the coverage vision.
Mark 16:15, Matt. 28:19-20: The Command of Christ
To Whom? All disciples who follow Christ and obey His commandment.
•
•

Preach the gospel to everyone everywhere.
Make disciples of all peoples in the world.

God’s task: coverage task: cover the all the nations, peoples, tribes and everyone
everywhere with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
God’s urgency: the harvest is ready and plenty. How can we rapidly do God’s harvest
before too late?
God’s strategy: What are the principles for accomplishing the coverage vision?
•

Multiplying: Mark 4:20
We must multiply ourselves 30, 60, and 100 times.

•

Growing: Mark 4:32
We must grow strong and big spiritually.

Jesus completed the God given task by growing and multiplying disciples. Paul
accomplished the God’s coverage vision by multiplying disciples and helping them to
grow in the grace of God(2 Timothy 2:1-2).
-what are the foundations of fulfilling the coverage vision?
•
•

Truth: word of God
Spirit: Only through the Word of God and Holy Spirit, we can accomplish
God’s vision(John 4:23-24). It is the work of Holy Spirit that anybody can
believe in Jesus as the Savior and the Son of living God.

-What are the strategies of accomplishing God’s coverage vision?
Luke 10:1-20 the strategies of Jesus Christ
1. Vision 2. Entry 3. Evangelism 4. Discipleship 5. Church planting
6. Leadership multiplication 7. Mission to the unreached.
-What is the ultimate purpose of accomplishing God’s vision?
John 17:4 Glorifying God
Jesus Christ glorified God by completing the task that God gave. We want
to glorify God by accomplishing God’s coverage vision everywhere in the
world.
-What shall we do about God’s coverage vision?
•

Obeying God’s vision: Acts 26:19 obeying the coverage vision of God
We must obey the coverage vision of God by preaching the gospel to
everyone everywhere and to make disciples of all nations.
•

Making a life plan to cover the world with the gospel. We are responsible
to finish the task: Romans 15:23 completing the coverage
We must complete the coverage in our areas and everywhere in the world
so that everyone everywhere will know God personally.

-How do we accomplish the coverage vision everywhere to glorify God?
The clear answer is to follow Jesus Christ’s strategy and example. For Paul followed
the example of Jesus Christ and covered his target areas. We must obey and follow
Jesus example and strategy.
The Coverage Training is all about equipping and training all believers to cover their
areas and the world by following Jesus example and strategies.
Jesus showed the vision about the spiritual harvest field that was ready and plenty.
Disciples were asked to pray for workers and to find persons of peace. Jesus instructed
them to stay with the person of peace and to preach and to teach what Jesus
commanded them to do. So that persons of peace become workers to cover their areas
with the gospel, church, and disciples.
Coverage Training is a training for trainers. It focuses on training workers who will train
other workers in order to multiply more workers.
In Luke 10:1-20, Jesus says that working for the Kingdom of God is like working for a
harvest. Jesus explained the coverage as harvest process(Mark 4:26-29).
How can we plant and grow rice?
Who can become a farmer to grow rice?
How can you learn about rice-planting?
What is the first thing you need to plant rice?
1. You have to make a plan according to your vision.
2. You actually have to enter and to prepare the field.
Then what?
3. You must sow seeds.

Then what?
4. You must take care of plant.

Then what?
5. You must harvest.

Then what?
6. You must set aside seeds to sow.
Then what?
7. You must find more places to sow if you want to multiply your harvest.
Jesus explained to His disciples about the nature of God’s work as working in God’s
harvest field. Working in God’s Kingdom is like planting rice. All believers must get
involved in God’s harvest. There is no exception if you are truly following Jesus Christ.
After Jesus showed God’s harvest vision, He instructed and sent His disciples to cover
all villages and cities in Israel(Luke 10:1-20). His coverage strategy is very simple and
easy to transfer it to others and to multiply workers. To fulfill God’s vision to cover all
peoples in villages and cities of our nation, we have to follow Jesus’ instruction and
strategy.
There are seven strategies that Jesus taught us to fulfill God’s coverage vision:
Strategy 1: Coverage Vision
Strategy 2: Coverage Entry
Strategy 3: Coverage Evangelism
Strategy 4: Coverage Discipleship
Strategy 5: Coverage Church Planting
Strategy 6: Coverage Leadership Multiplication
Strategy 7: Coverage Mission To The Unreached
If we obey these strategies in the field, we can finish the task of God’s vision. Jesus
said that if we are faithful, we will produce fruit. Do you want to be a part of working for
God’s coverage vision? Do you want to cover your village, your city, your state, and
your country and see His great harvest?
Review:
What is God’s coverage vision? God wants to cover the whole world with the
knowledge of glory of God. As the result of it, a multitude of every nation, tribe,
language, and people will be saved and worship the Lord. We have to obey God’s
vision and to make our life plan to cover all villages, cities, and the whole nation. Also
we have to make a plan to go to all nations of the world.
In order to produce enough workers, we have to mobilize and train all believers.
Without sufficient workers, harvest cannot be done in time.
What are we going to train believers to cover their areas?
1. Coverage Training Curriculum-what to train
A. Coverage Vision-obeying God’s coverage vision to cover the whole world with the
gospel and disciples resulting in planting churches everywhere.
B. Coverage Entry-enter all villages and cities to pray and to find person of peace.
C. Coverage Evangelism-sharing the gospel with everyone in the target area by using
personal testimony and the gospel presentation.
D. Coverage Discipleship-making disciples everywhere by basic follow-up bible study
and long term bible study.
E. Coverage Church Planting-planting churches everywhere by sharing the gospel
and teaching the word with family, friends, and neighbor of person of peace.
F. Coverage Leadership Multiplication-selecting multiple leaders in the church and
training them.
G. Coverage Mission-sending trained church leaders to cover the unreached people
groups.
How are we going to train trainers?
2. Coverage Training For Trainer Method-how we can train trainers
A. Teach-introducing biblical strategies about fulfilling the coverage vision.
B. Demonstration-show how to do.
C. Practice-help trainees to master skills of coverage strategies by doing it.
D. Assignment-applying strategies in the field.
E. Train-multiplying workers by training others.
What kind of people should we produce to lead God’s coverage movement?
3. Coverage Coordinator
In order to finish the task of God’s coverage vision, there should be committed people of
God who take responsibility of coordinating and leading coverage movement in all
people groups and nations of the world.
What is a Coverage Coordinator?
A Coverage Coordinator (CC) is an individual committed to the task of facilitating an
intentional coverage strategy with a goal of seeing church planting movements in a
specifically adopted field.
Let us look at the parts of this definition.
The “CC” is a Facilitator –The nature of the India coverage task calls for visionary
leaders who are able to mobilize others into the harvest fields. Without the collective
efforts of the body of Christ India is lost. As a facilitator the SC is constantly praying
and searching for open doors through which the army of God may be sent into His
fields. An effective SC identifies and coordinates resources to multiply the harvest.
The “CC” has an Intentional Church Planting Strategy – We have found that those God
has used to launch movements have worked a simple reproducible plan. This plan
when founded on scripture can be applied to any context and with minimal adaptation
will bare fruit. The CC cannot control this process but he or she can become a catalyst
for such movement.
Church Planting Movement vision is the goal of this training. The CC’s vision must be
bigger than planting one church. The vision must be bigger than one school, institution,
association or organization. The work of one man will never be enough. Instead the CC
works to mobilize the masses within the church to go forth and bare their own fruit.
“CPM” is measured by generational growth. Churches planting churches is the key.
The “CC” has a specifically chosen UUPG and areas. Focus and commitment are
essential to completing the Great Commission. Choosing target area is only the
beginning of reaching goals. Follow-through of church planting and producing workers
is a must that is often sidetracked by other opportunities. As we read in Phil. 1:9 it is
often the good things of ministry that keep us from the best of follow-through to our
commitments. The CC’s commitment is made before God and must be seen as a long
term commitment to finishing the task. This could be a people group , or a language
group. This could be a geographical location such as town, city, or block or a group of
villages. India there are 6300 blocks each with about 100 villages .
It was John Knox who said, “Give me Scotland or I die!” This is the mentality of an
“CC”. Our search has begun for those who live and breathe to see God’s kingdom take
hold of all of India! You have been invited because we believe you are of the same
Spirit as John Knox. Who among us will stand and say, “Give me India or I die!” “ Or
give me my people group/language group/city or block or I die ”
Metaphors to Describe the CC Role
The CC as a Coach
- A coach’s success depends on the skills of his players. He is judged based on their
ability to work together to accomplish more than they could individually.
- A coach is a delegator of responsibility. He must trust his players to complete the
tasks assigned to them.
- A coach guides, challenges, educates and holds his players accountable for actions
on and off the playing field.
- A coach must recognize talent and assign roles for his players. A coach who cannot
recognize skills and talents will never challenge his players in the areas they can be
most successful.
The CC as a Grandparent - It is hard work raising children, seeing your children raise
their own offspring is rewarding! The CC’s goal is spiritual grandchildren and great
grandchildren! Healthy multiplication is the measure of success.
- A grandparent rests at night knowing the family will continue without them. He/she
has the confidence that they have passed on the essential elements for continued
multiplication.
- A grandparent wants nothing more than to see their descendants prepared for life’s
challenges. They take joy when their offspring succeed. Their desire is for the children
to do even greater things than they have. They want their children to have better lives,
and ministries than they had.
The CC as a Farmer - A farmer understands reproduction. His livelihood depends upon
multiplying returns as each new harvest is gathered.
- What a farmer sows he intends to reap. His labors are motivated by a vision for the
coming harvest. For this reason he is committed from the beginning to eventually
reaping what has been sown.
Jesus utilized the imagery of farming multiple times in scripture to describe kingdom
growth. Consider the study of Mark chapter four mentioned below.
What are the qualities of an "CC" Please read the following verses and understand the
concept of Five 'C' What are the qualities of a leader as can be observed in these
verses ?
Calling ,Character ,Competence Psalm 78:70-72
Christ, Community Mathew 22:37-40
Responsibilities of the Coverage Coordinator
Jesus has given clear teaching concerning facilitating kingdom growth. Discovering
elements that are essential and facilitating them in new fields constitutes the work of an
CC. Take time to read the parable below from Mark 4:26-29 of the growing seed.
Jesus’ teaching on the kingdom of God shows us these essentials.
“This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night
and day, whether he sleeps or gets up the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not
know how. All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk then the head then the full
grain in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe he puts the sickle to it for the harvest has
come.”
As we look together into this parable several essentials stand out. Consider line by line
what is needed to begin a new work.
Verse 26 “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground.”
In the first verse we can see three areas of CC responsibility.
1) Mobilize Sowers – men and women willing to cast the seed.
Sowers are the beginning of God’s plan. God has chosen to use His people as the
catalysts of His kingdom. The scripture speaks repeatedly of our duty as well as the
awesome privilege of representing the creator and His redemptive plan. As we consider
the need for sowers, the SC is well served to consider the following questions
concerning his own expectations of sowers. The answers to these questions have a
huge impact on the potential of his/her ministry.
§
Discussion Questions
1) What does a sower do?
2) Who is qualified to be a sower?
3) How do I equip sowers for the kingdom work?
4) How many sowers are presently working in your field?
5) How can you mobilize additional sowers?

Answers to these kinds of questions will reveal the true potential of your ministry.
2 Corinthians 9:6 has always been true.
“He who sows sparingly will reap sparingly; he who sows generously will reap
generously.”
It is simple logic. How many people will hear the gospel today within your field? The
answer to this question depends on the sowers you are equipping and sending into the
field. Each one of us has unconscious biases and unspoken opinions concerning who
is qualified, what and to whom they should speak as well as a definition of successful
evangelism that must be evaluated in order to maximize the potential harvest. 1
Consider this study of the qualifications of those God has used…
David/Moses/Peter/John…Simple men.
Ex. 19—1 Pet. 2 – Priesthood study – our singular qualification!
2) Scatter the Seed – the word of God cast from the hand of the sower.
God has ordered creation in such a way that seed is the essential starting place of all
life. No life begins without a preordained origin or primary element through which
growth begins. For the spiritual life, God has ordained His Word as the point of origin.
Without it we are left with Romans 1, a reflection of the creator visible in creation yet
1
capable only of condemnation. This is why God has gone to such lengths to provide us
with the complete record of His nature and His redemptive plan (Rom. 10:17). Consider
these questions concerning your use of God’s seed we will address during this training.
Discussion Questions
1) What is the seed?
2) What are the essential elements of the seed?
3) What barriers exist keeping my target from understanding the gospel
message?
4) Can mass media accomplish the task?
5) What medium is most likely to produce fruit?

Faith comes by hearing (Rom 10:17). Yet not all hearing results in faith (Mt. 13:14).
There are those whose hearts are not ready to receive the gospel message. Yet
distinguishing between the two has never been a job assigned to man. Even Christ
practiced sowing seed on a grand scale and filtering to find those prepared for the seed.
The key for the sower is the removal of as many obstacles to the reception of the seed
as possible. Those who stumble should do so over Christ, not our inept presentation.
Aspects of culture misunderstood by the sower have prevented many people otherwise
ready to enter the kingdom from grasping the message. Similarly an overemphasis on
contextualization has led some away from scriptural models. A proper understanding of
the audience can help the sower to avoid possible stumbling blocks or even emphasize
needed elements that may be lacking within the worldview of the listener. This brings us
to our next essential.
Know the Soil – the hearts of the lost into which seed is cast.
Knowing the audience is essential for the CC. Those disconnected from the lost will
never see abundant harvest. Jesus will always be the standard for the use of our time.
When we consider His priority, seeking and saving that which was lost, we are also
called into account for our pursuit of those who have not heard. The very reason we
have not yet welcomed our savior’s second coming is the remaining task of reaching the
lost peoples of the world (2 Pet. 3:9/Mt. 24:14). God’s end-vision includes priests from
every nation, tribe, people and language standing before the throne in worship (Rev.
5:9-10). The hope of the Lord’s coming must always be coupled with a desire to carry
on His work among the peoples of the world.
The soil is all around us. Everywhere we look we can see the lost. Consider these
questions concerning the soil.
1)
2)
3)
4)
5)

Discussion Questions
Who is your audience?
How does my target people process information? Make decisions?
What percentage is literate? How will I present to illiterates?
How many homes am I targeting? villages/towns?
How many lost people do you know personally?

We are told today the planet holds over 7 billion people. We can estimate from this
number a death rate of nearly 3 hundred thousand per day. With only 86,400 seconds
daily this means more than three deaths every second. Including Catholics, the number
of Christians stands around 200 crore (2 billion) or one third of the earth’s population. If
these estimates are accurate this means two people enter eternity in hell every second
of the day. What percentage of your town or target population segment knows Christ?
How many of them will enter eternity today without a saving knowledge of Christ?
In the Mark 4 parable Jesus goes on to say;
“Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up the seed sprouts and grows, though he
does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk then the head
then the full grain in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe he puts the sickle to it for the
harvest has come.”
Here we can see two further essentials for the CC.
3) Partner with the Spirit – the Spirit of God giving the increase.
For the farmer the mystery of growth cannot be explained. Though he can fertilize and
ensure proper exposure to water and sunlight the actual process of growing is out of his
control. At the end of the day he will eat and sleep comfortably knowing it is the nature
of the seed and the soil to produce a crop. He can rest in this knowledge because God
has ordered this process since the beginning. It is a process so common its mystery is
often overlooked. At the right time, in the right place dependent of a multitude of right
conditions the seed sprouts and grows. In this process, many times, we take for
granted God’s incredible orchestration. He provides optimal conditions and all the
essential elements for growth.
When Jesus was speaking the Holy Spirit had yet to be given to the church. Following
the events of Pentecost we hear from Paul the explanation of this great mystery in
regards to the church.
1 Cor. 3:6 “I Paul, sowed the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.”
Endeavoring to start a new church without the Holy Spirit’s guidance is like planning a
trip to the moon without a rocket. In a discussion of the means of church planting the
conversation must begin and end with the Lord’s hand. While we can be sure God’s
desire is the spread of the church often the most difficult aspect of discerning His will is
timing. When is the optimal season for planting? Why has seed taken root in this soil
and not the neighboring soil? All these things are mysteries best left in the hand of the
Holy Spirit. The great comfort for the Coverage Coordinator is the sovereignty of God
who never rests in His tending and nurturing the coming harvest.
Consider these questions concerning the Spirit’s involvement in your ministry.
1)
2)
3)
4)
5)
6)

Discussion Questions
How many hours do you spend listening to God?
When was the last time God revealed his plan or timing in your life?
How would you describe your calling from God?
How do you test your decisions to ensure God’s will and timing?
Have there been times you mistook God’s will or timing in your ministry?
Are you open to God moving a new direction with your life?

Abiding in Christ is key for discerning God’s direction (Jn. 15:4-8). Great leaders in
scripture have been abiders. Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Samuel, David, Nehemiah and
Daniel were all dependent on hearing the Lord’s voice and obeying within His timing.
Many disasters were avoided because those God had lifted up were able to discern His
timing. Many victories are owed to the same process. How have you prioritized
listening to the author and perfector of our faith?
4) Commit to the Season – commitment to the harvest.
No seed grows over night. No farmer sows one day and expects to reap the next. Only
those committed to the harvest will see the fruits. Like a farmer the Coverage
Coordinator must grasp a clear vision for the coming harvest. Without it, distraction,
hunger and even despair will sidetrack the effort. Consider the farmer in Jesus parable.
How many visits were made to the field? Once to sow, once to see the stalk, once to
see the head, once to see the full grain in the head, once to determine the time of
harvest, and once to swing the sickle. At least six trips to the field and more likely daily.
Why would the farmer sow where he does not intend to reap? The Following are
questions we will seek to answer concerning the season.
1)
2)
3)
4)
5)

Discussion Questions
Are you committed to the harvest?
How much time do you designate to checking the growth of seed?
Is your top priority the crop?
What harvests are you currently tracking?
Is the end-vision or goal of your ministry a multiplied gathering of the harvest?

When faced with these questions many have realized their goals were not new church
starts. If you are satisfied with anything less than gathering the harvest, your ministry is
not focused on launching church planting movements. Seed sown and not followed up
on is destined to spoil. Seed, time, effort, fertile soil and many other resources are lost
when we fail to commit to the harvest.
The terrific truth of these essentials from Mark 4 is that all have been provided to us in
advance. As we continue our study of Mark 4 and the CC role pray through these
elements to ensure all the resources available to us are being utilized for the harvest. 2
Take time now to be quiet before the Lord. Search areas of your life using these
questions. Ask the Lord to show you any areas where he may be at work. Let us pray

2
together, “help us to take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Cor.
10:5)

God's coverage vision

  • 1. Coverage Coordinator Training Manual God’s vision God Father is our creator who loves us so much. God sent His only beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross to pay the penalty of our sins. If anyone believes in Jesus and receive Him as Savior, he will receive eternal life and abundant life in the world. God’s vision: What is God’s vision? God wants to cover the whole world with the word of God so that all people in the world may know the saving knowledge of the gospel. God’s vision is to reach all people with the gospel to save them all. • Covering the whole world with the word of God. Habakkuk 2:14; For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. What will look like when the coverage vision of God is accomplished? Everyone in the world heard the gospel and knew God. Hebrews 8:11; Everyone heard the gospel. No longer will be a man in the world who does not know God and the gospel. • Everywhere in the world there will be believers and believer’s gathering as church. Everywhere believers get together as church to worship God(Revelation 7:9). -What is the ultimate goal of the coverage vision of God? Rev. 7:9-10 a great multitude of saved believers from every nation, tribe, people, and language will be with God and worship God. The churches planted everywhere will worship to glorify God. The whole world will be filled with the Glory of God that is the ultimate vision of God. God’s will: Why does God want to cover the world with the gospel? God desires to save all people in the world. • • Everyone everywhere knows God.1 Timothy 2:4, 2 Peter 3:9 God wants to save everyone everywhere. God wants to cover everywhere with the gospel so that everyone may know God and be saved.
  • 2. God’s commandment: Jesus Christ commands His disciple to cover the world with the gospel and disciples to fulfill the coverage vision. Mark 16:15, Matt. 28:19-20: The Command of Christ To Whom? All disciples who follow Christ and obey His commandment. • • Preach the gospel to everyone everywhere. Make disciples of all peoples in the world. God’s task: coverage task: cover the all the nations, peoples, tribes and everyone everywhere with the gospel of Jesus Christ. God’s urgency: the harvest is ready and plenty. How can we rapidly do God’s harvest before too late? God’s strategy: What are the principles for accomplishing the coverage vision? • Multiplying: Mark 4:20 We must multiply ourselves 30, 60, and 100 times. • Growing: Mark 4:32 We must grow strong and big spiritually. Jesus completed the God given task by growing and multiplying disciples. Paul accomplished the God’s coverage vision by multiplying disciples and helping them to grow in the grace of God(2 Timothy 2:1-2). -what are the foundations of fulfilling the coverage vision? • • Truth: word of God Spirit: Only through the Word of God and Holy Spirit, we can accomplish God’s vision(John 4:23-24). It is the work of Holy Spirit that anybody can believe in Jesus as the Savior and the Son of living God. -What are the strategies of accomplishing God’s coverage vision? Luke 10:1-20 the strategies of Jesus Christ 1. Vision 2. Entry 3. Evangelism 4. Discipleship 5. Church planting 6. Leadership multiplication 7. Mission to the unreached. -What is the ultimate purpose of accomplishing God’s vision? John 17:4 Glorifying God
  • 3. Jesus Christ glorified God by completing the task that God gave. We want to glorify God by accomplishing God’s coverage vision everywhere in the world. -What shall we do about God’s coverage vision? • Obeying God’s vision: Acts 26:19 obeying the coverage vision of God We must obey the coverage vision of God by preaching the gospel to everyone everywhere and to make disciples of all nations. • Making a life plan to cover the world with the gospel. We are responsible to finish the task: Romans 15:23 completing the coverage We must complete the coverage in our areas and everywhere in the world so that everyone everywhere will know God personally. -How do we accomplish the coverage vision everywhere to glorify God? The clear answer is to follow Jesus Christ’s strategy and example. For Paul followed the example of Jesus Christ and covered his target areas. We must obey and follow Jesus example and strategy. The Coverage Training is all about equipping and training all believers to cover their areas and the world by following Jesus example and strategies. Jesus showed the vision about the spiritual harvest field that was ready and plenty. Disciples were asked to pray for workers and to find persons of peace. Jesus instructed them to stay with the person of peace and to preach and to teach what Jesus commanded them to do. So that persons of peace become workers to cover their areas with the gospel, church, and disciples. Coverage Training is a training for trainers. It focuses on training workers who will train other workers in order to multiply more workers. In Luke 10:1-20, Jesus says that working for the Kingdom of God is like working for a harvest.
  • 4. Then what? 3. You must sow seeds. Then what? 4. You must take care of plant. Then what? 5. You must harvest. Then what? 6. You must set aside seeds to sow.
  • 5. Then what? 7. You must find more places to sow if you want to multiply your harvest. Jesus explained to His disciples about the nature of God’s work as working in God’s harvest field. Working in God’s Kingdom is like planting rice. All believers must get involved in God’s harvest. There is no exception if you are truly following Jesus Christ. After Jesus showed God’s harvest vision, He instructed and sent His disciples to cover all villages and cities in Israel(Luke 10:1-20). His coverage strategy is very simple and easy to transfer it to others and to multiply workers. To fulfill God’s vision to cover all peoples in villages and cities of our nation, we have to follow Jesus’ instruction and strategy. There are seven strategies that Jesus taught us to fulfill God’s coverage vision: Strategy 1: Coverage Vision Strategy 2: Coverage Entry Strategy 3: Coverage Evangelism Strategy 4: Coverage Discipleship Strategy 5: Coverage Church Planting Strategy 6: Coverage Leadership Multiplication Strategy 7: Coverage Mission To The Unreached If we obey these strategies in the field, we can finish the task of God’s vision. Jesus said that if we are faithful, we will produce fruit. Do you want to be a part of working for God’s coverage vision? Do you want to cover your village, your city, your state, and your country and see His great harvest? Review: What is God’s coverage vision? God wants to cover the whole world with the knowledge of glory of God. As the result of it, a multitude of every nation, tribe, language, and people will be saved and worship the Lord. We have to obey God’s vision and to make our life plan to cover all villages, cities, and the whole nation. Also we have to make a plan to go to all nations of the world.
  • 6. In order to produce enough workers, we have to mobilize and train all believers. Without sufficient workers, harvest cannot be done in time. What are we going to train believers to cover their areas? 1. Coverage Training Curriculum-what to train A. Coverage Vision-obeying God’s coverage vision to cover the whole world with the gospel and disciples resulting in planting churches everywhere. B. Coverage Entry-enter all villages and cities to pray and to find person of peace. C. Coverage Evangelism-sharing the gospel with everyone in the target area by using personal testimony and the gospel presentation. D. Coverage Discipleship-making disciples everywhere by basic follow-up bible study and long term bible study. E. Coverage Church Planting-planting churches everywhere by sharing the gospel and teaching the word with family, friends, and neighbor of person of peace. F. Coverage Leadership Multiplication-selecting multiple leaders in the church and training them. G. Coverage Mission-sending trained church leaders to cover the unreached people groups. How are we going to train trainers? 2. Coverage Training For Trainer Method-how we can train trainers A.
  • 7. In order to finish the task of God’s coverage vision, there should be committed people of God who take responsibility of coordinating and leading coverage movement in all people groups and nations of the world. What is a Coverage Coordinator? A Coverage Coordinator (CC) is an individual committed to the task of facilitating an intentional coverage strategy with a goal of seeing church planting movements in a specifically adopted field. Let us look at the parts of this definition. The “CC” is a Facilitator –The nature of the India coverage task calls for visionary leaders who are able to mobilize others into the harvest fields. Without the collective efforts of the body of Christ India is lost. As a facilitator the SC is constantly praying and searching for open doors through which the army of God may be sent into His fields. An effective SC identifies and coordinates resources to multiply the harvest. The “CC” has an Intentional Church Planting Strategy – We have found that those God has used to launch movements have worked a simple reproducible plan. This plan when founded on scripture can be applied to any context and with minimal adaptation will bare fruit. The CC cannot control this process but he or she can become a catalyst for such movement. Church Planting Movement vision is the goal of this training. The CC’s vision must be bigger than planting one church. The vision must be bigger than one school, institution, association or organization. The work of one man will never be enough. Instead the CC works to mobilize the masses within the church to go forth and bare their own fruit. “CPM” is measured by generational growth. Churches planting churches is the key. The “CC” has a specifically chosen UUPG and areas. Focus and commitment are essential to completing the Great Commission. Choosing target area is only the beginning of reaching goals. Follow-through of church planting and producing workers is a must that is often sidetracked by other opportunities. As we read in Phil. 1:9 it is often the good things of ministry that keep us from the best of follow-through to our commitments. The CC’s commitment is made before God and must be seen as a long term commitment to finishing the task. This could be a people group , or a language group. This could be a geographical location such as town, city, or block or a group of villages. India there are 6300 blocks each with about 100 villages . It was John Knox who said, “Give me Scotland or I die!” This is the mentality of an “CC”. Our search has begun for those who live and breathe to see God’s kingdom take hold of all of India! You have been invited because we believe you are of the same Spirit as John Knox. Who among us will stand and say, “Give me India or I die!” “ Or give me my people group/language group/city or block or I die ” Metaphors to Describe the CC Role
  • 8. The CC as a Coach - A coach’s success depends on the skills of his players. He is judged based on their ability to work together to accomplish more than they could individually. - A coach is a delegator of responsibility. He must trust his players to complete the tasks assigned to them. - A coach guides, challenges, educates and holds his players accountable for actions on and off the playing field. - A coach must recognize talent and assign roles for his players. A coach who cannot recognize skills and talents will never challenge his players in the areas they can be most successful. The CC as a Grandparent - It is hard work raising children, seeing your children raise their own offspring is rewarding! The CC’s goal is spiritual grandchildren and great grandchildren! Healthy multiplication is the measure of success. - A grandparent rests at night knowing the family will continue without them. He/she has the confidence that they have passed on the essential elements for continued multiplication. - A grandparent wants nothing more than to see their descendants prepared for life’s challenges. They take joy when their offspring succeed. Their desire is for the children to do even greater things than they have. They want their children to have better lives, and ministries than they had. The CC as a Farmer - A farmer understands reproduction. His livelihood depends upon multiplying returns as each new harvest is gathered. - What a farmer sows he intends to reap. His labors are motivated by a vision for the coming harvest. For this reason he is committed from the beginning to eventually reaping what has been sown. Jesus utilized the imagery of farming multiple times in scripture to describe kingdom growth. Consider the study of Mark chapter four mentioned below. What are the qualities of an "CC" Please read the following verses and understand the concept of Five 'C' What are the qualities of a leader as can be observed in these verses ? Calling ,Character ,Competence Psalm 78:70-72 Christ, Community Mathew 22:37-40 Responsibilities of the Coverage Coordinator Jesus has given clear teaching concerning facilitating kingdom growth. Discovering elements that are essential and facilitating them in new fields constitutes the work of an CC. Take time to read the parable below from Mark 4:26-29 of the growing seed. Jesus’ teaching on the kingdom of God shows us these essentials. “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk then the head then the full grain in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe he puts the sickle to it for the harvest has come.”
  • 9. As we look together into this parable several essentials stand out. Consider line by line what is needed to begin a new work. Verse 26 “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground.” In the first verse we can see three areas of CC responsibility. 1) Mobilize Sowers – men and women willing to cast the seed. Sowers are the beginning of God’s plan. God has chosen to use His people as the catalysts of His kingdom. The scripture speaks repeatedly of our duty as well as the awesome privilege of representing the creator and His redemptive plan. As we consider the need for sowers, the SC is well served to consider the following questions concerning his own expectations of sowers. The answers to these questions have a huge impact on the potential of his/her ministry. § Discussion Questions 1) What does a sower do? 2) Who is qualified to be a sower? 3) How do I equip sowers for the kingdom work? 4) How many sowers are presently working in your field? 5) How can you mobilize additional sowers? Answers to these kinds of questions will reveal the true potential of your ministry. 2 Corinthians 9:6 has always been true. “He who sows sparingly will reap sparingly; he who sows generously will reap generously.” It is simple logic. How many people will hear the gospel today within your field? The answer to this question depends on the sowers you are equipping and sending into the field. Each one of us has unconscious biases and unspoken opinions concerning who is qualified, what and to whom they should speak as well as a definition of successful evangelism that must be evaluated in order to maximize the potential harvest. 1 Consider this study of the qualifications of those God has used… David/Moses/Peter/John…Simple men. Ex. 19—1 Pet. 2 – Priesthood study – our singular qualification! 2) Scatter the Seed – the word of God cast from the hand of the sower. God has ordered creation in such a way that seed is the essential starting place of all life. No life begins without a preordained origin or primary element through which growth begins. For the spiritual life, God has ordained His Word as the point of origin. Without it we are left with Romans 1, a reflection of the creator visible in creation yet 1
  • 10. capable only of condemnation. This is why God has gone to such lengths to provide us with the complete record of His nature and His redemptive plan (Rom. 10:17). Consider these questions concerning your use of God’s seed we will address during this training. Discussion Questions 1) What is the seed? 2) What are the essential elements of the seed? 3) What barriers exist keeping my target from understanding the gospel message? 4) Can mass media accomplish the task? 5) What medium is most likely to produce fruit? Faith comes by hearing (Rom 10:17). Yet not all hearing results in faith (Mt. 13:14). There are those whose hearts are not ready to receive the gospel message. Yet distinguishing between the two has never been a job assigned to man. Even Christ practiced sowing seed on a grand scale and filtering to find those prepared for the seed. The key for the sower is the removal of as many obstacles to the reception of the seed as possible. Those who stumble should do so over Christ, not our inept presentation. Aspects of culture misunderstood by the sower have prevented many people otherwise ready to enter the kingdom from grasping the message. Similarly an overemphasis on contextualization has led some away from scriptural models. A proper understanding of the audience can help the sower to avoid possible stumbling blocks or even emphasize needed elements that may be lacking within the worldview of the listener. This brings us to our next essential. Know the Soil – the hearts of the lost into which seed is cast. Knowing the audience is essential for the CC. Those disconnected from the lost will never see abundant harvest. Jesus will always be the standard for the use of our time. When we consider His priority, seeking and saving that which was lost, we are also called into account for our pursuit of those who have not heard. The very reason we have not yet welcomed our savior’s second coming is the remaining task of reaching the lost peoples of the world (2 Pet. 3:9/Mt. 24:14). God’s end-vision includes priests from every nation, tribe, people and language standing before the throne in worship (Rev. 5:9-10). The hope of the Lord’s coming must always be coupled with a desire to carry on His work among the peoples of the world. The soil is all around us. Everywhere we look we can see the lost. Consider these questions concerning the soil.
  • 11. 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) Discussion Questions Who is your audience? How does my target people process information? Make decisions? What percentage is literate? How will I present to illiterates? How many homes am I targeting? villages/towns? How many lost people do you know personally? We are told today the planet holds over 7 billion people. We can estimate from this number a death rate of nearly 3 hundred thousand per day. With only 86,400 seconds daily this means more than three deaths every second. Including Catholics, the number of Christians stands around 200 crore (2 billion) or one third of the earth’s population. If these estimates are accurate this means two people enter eternity in hell every second of the day. What percentage of your town or target population segment knows Christ? How many of them will enter eternity today without a saving knowledge of Christ? In the Mark 4 parable Jesus goes on to say; “Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk then the head then the full grain in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe he puts the sickle to it for the harvest has come.” Here we can see two further essentials for the CC. 3) Partner with the Spirit – the Spirit of God giving the increase. For the farmer the mystery of growth cannot be explained. Though he can fertilize and ensure proper exposure to water and sunlight the actual process of growing is out of his control. At the end of the day he will eat and sleep comfortably knowing it is the nature of the seed and the soil to produce a crop. He can rest in this knowledge because God has ordered this process since the beginning. It is a process so common its mystery is often overlooked. At the right time, in the right place dependent of a multitude of right conditions the seed sprouts and grows. In this process, many times, we take for granted God’s incredible orchestration. He provides optimal conditions and all the essential elements for growth. When Jesus was speaking the Holy Spirit had yet to be given to the church. Following the events of Pentecost we hear from Paul the explanation of this great mystery in regards to the church. 1 Cor. 3:6 “I Paul, sowed the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.” Endeavoring to start a new church without the Holy Spirit’s guidance is like planning a trip to the moon without a rocket. In a discussion of the means of church planting the conversation must begin and end with the Lord’s hand. While we can be sure God’s desire is the spread of the church often the most difficult aspect of discerning His will is timing. When is the optimal season for planting? Why has seed taken root in this soil and not the neighboring soil? All these things are mysteries best left in the hand of the
  • 12. Holy Spirit. The great comfort for the Coverage Coordinator is the sovereignty of God who never rests in His tending and nurturing the coming harvest. Consider these questions concerning the Spirit’s involvement in your ministry. 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) Discussion Questions How many hours do you spend listening to God? When was the last time God revealed his plan or timing in your life? How would you describe your calling from God? How do you test your decisions to ensure God’s will and timing? Have there been times you mistook God’s will or timing in your ministry? Are you open to God moving a new direction with your life? Abiding in Christ is key for discerning God’s direction (Jn. 15:4-8). Great leaders in scripture have been abiders. Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Samuel, David, Nehemiah and Daniel were all dependent on hearing the Lord’s voice and obeying within His timing. Many disasters were avoided because those God had lifted up were able to discern His timing. Many victories are owed to the same process. How have you prioritized listening to the author and perfector of our faith? 4) Commit to the Season – commitment to the harvest. No seed grows over night. No farmer sows one day and expects to reap the next. Only those committed to the harvest will see the fruits. Like a farmer the Coverage Coordinator must grasp a clear vision for the coming harvest. Without it, distraction, hunger and even despair will sidetrack the effort. Consider the farmer in Jesus parable. How many visits were made to the field? Once to sow, once to see the stalk, once to see the head, once to see the full grain in the head, once to determine the time of harvest, and once to swing the sickle. At least six trips to the field and more likely daily. Why would the farmer sow where he does not intend to reap? The Following are questions we will seek to answer concerning the season. 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) Discussion Questions Are you committed to the harvest? How much time do you designate to checking the growth of seed? Is your top priority the crop? What harvests are you currently tracking? Is the end-vision or goal of your ministry a multiplied gathering of the harvest? When faced with these questions many have realized their goals were not new church starts. If you are satisfied with anything less than gathering the harvest, your ministry is not focused on launching church planting movements. Seed sown and not followed up on is destined to spoil. Seed, time, effort, fertile soil and many other resources are lost when we fail to commit to the harvest. The terrific truth of these essentials from Mark 4 is that all have been provided to us in advance. As we continue our study of Mark 4 and the CC role pray through these elements to ensure all the resources available to us are being utilized for the harvest. 2 Take time now to be quiet before the Lord. Search areas of your life using these questions. Ask the Lord to show you any areas where he may be at work. Let us pray 2
