3. LINE “A” (54-INCH) TRACT “A” (SOCCER FIELDS) - BYPASS PUMP
DISCHARGE PIPING SHOULD GENERALLY FOLLOW THE EXISTING 54-INCH
SANITARY SEWER MAIN. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL RESTORE ANY
DISTURBED AREAS WITHIN TRACT “A” TO ITS EXISTING OR BETTER
CONDITION USING A NATIVE SEED MIXTURE AND/OR TREES AS
DESIGNATED BY THE HEADWATERS COALITION. ANY PUMPS LOCATED
ON TRACT “A” SHALL BE SURROUNDED BY A CONTAINMENT BERM OR
HAVE A SIMILAR MEANS OF PREVENTING RAW SEWAGE FROM
REACHING OLMOS CREEK IN THE EVENT OF A SPILL.
4. LINE “A” (54-INCH) TRACT “B” (UIW PARKING LOT) - BYPASS PUMP
DISCHARGE PIPING SHOULD GENERALLY FOLLOW ALONG THE
PAVEMENT EDGE WITHIN TRACT “B”. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT
DISTURB ANY SURROUNDING TREES OR DAMAGE EXISTING PAVEMENT
WITHIN TRACT “B”. THE CONTRACTOR IS NOT ALLOWED TO BLOCK
ACCESS TO ANY PARKING SPACES WITHOUT FIRST COORDINATING WITH
UIW PERSONNEL. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ENSURE THAT ANY
DISCHARGED SEWAGE DOES NOT CAUSE A SURCHARGE AT THE
DOWNSTREAM SIPHON STRUCTURE.
5. LINE “B” (18-INCH) TRACT “K” (THE VILLAGE) - BYPASS PUMP
DISCHARGE PIPING SHOULD FOLLOW THE OUTSIDE EDGE OF THE
ASPHALT DRIVE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL RESTORE ANY EXISTING BASE
MATERIAL THAT IS DISTURBED BY CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY.
6. LINE “B” (18-INCH) TRACT “G” (BLUE HOLE SANCTUARY) - BYPASS PUMP
DISCHARGE PIPING SHOULD BE ROUTED ADJACENT TO THE EXISTING
CONCRETE SIDEWALK AND AROUND THE EXISTING SAND VOLLEYBALL
PLAY AREA. THE ALIGNMENT SHOULD CONTINUE TO GENERALLY
FOLLOW THE ALIGNMENT OF THE EXISTING 18-INCH MAIN, BUT
SHOULD AVOID BEING LOCATED WITHIN THE MAIN CHANNEL OF THE
SAN ANTONIO RIVER. SHOULD THE DISCHARGE PIPING NEED TO CROSS
AN EXISTING WALKWAY, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A RAMP
WITH BASE MATERIAL ABOVE THE PIPING WITH SLOPES AND WIDTHS
THAT MEET OR EXCEED CURRENT TEXAS ACCESSIBILITY STANDARDS.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL RESTORE ANY DISTURBED AREAS WITHIN
TRACT “G” TO ITS EXISTING OR BETTER CONDITION USING A NATIVE
SEED MIXTURE AND/OR TREES AS DESIGNATED BY THE HEADWATERS
COALITION.
7. LINE “B” (15-INCH / 18-INCH) TRACT “C”, TRACT “H”, TRACT “I”, TRACT
“L”) (UIW CAMPUS) - BYPASS PUMP DISCHARGE PIPING SHOULD BE
ROUTED ADJACENT TO THE EXISTING CONCRETE SIDEWALK NEAR THE
EXISTING FOOTBRIDGE AND SHOULD CONTINUE TO GENERALLY
FOLLOW THE ALIGNMENT OF THE EXISTING MAIN 15-INCH AND 18-INCH
MAINS, BUT SHOULD AVOID BEING LOCATED WITHIN THE MAIN
CHANNEL OF THE SAN ANTONIO RIVER. THE CONTRACTOR SHOULD
EXERCISE CAUTION WHILE WORKING IN THE VICINITY OF THE NEW
BUILDING CONSTRUCTION ADJACENT TO THE BUCKLEY-MITCHELL
ADVANCEMENT CENTER. COORDINATE WITH CAMPUS PERSONNEL
PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.
8. THE BYPASS PUMPING PLAN SHOWN IN THIS DRAWING IS ONLY
SUGGESTED FOR CONTRACTOR CONSIDERATION, THE CONTRACTOR
SHALL SUBMIT A BYPASS PUMPING PLAN TO THE OWNER FOR FINAL

18. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL EROSION/SEDMENTATION CONTROLS
AND TREE/NATURAL AREA PROTECTIVE FENCING PRIOR TO ANY SITE
PREPARATION WORK (CLEARING, GRUBBING OR EXCAVATION).
THE PLACEMENT OF EROSION/SEDIMENTATION CONTROLS SHALL BE IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPROVED EROSION/SEDIMENTATION CONTROL PLAN.
THE CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO INSPECT THE CONTROLS AND FENCES AT
WEEKLY INTERVALS AND AFTER SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL EVENTS TO INSURE THAT THEY
HAVE NOT BEEN SUBSTANTIALLY DISTURBED AND ARE FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE
CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTENANCE OF CONTROLS AND FENCES SHALL
IMMEDIATELY MAKE ANY NECESSARY REPAIRS TO DAMAGED AREAS. SILT
ACCUMULATION AT CONTROLS MUST BE REMOVED WHEN THE DEPTH REACHES SIX (6)
INCHES.
PRIOR TO FINAL ACCEPTANCE, HAUL ROADS AND WATERWAY CROSSINGS CONSTRUCTED
FOR TEMPORARY CONTRACTOR ACCESS MUST BE REMOVED, ACCUMULATED SEDIMENT
REMOVED FROM THE WATERWAY AND THE AREA RESTORED TO THE ORIGINAL GRADE
AND REVEGETATED. ALL LAND CLEARING DEBRIS SHALL BE DISPOSED OF IN
APPROVED SPOIL DISPOSAL SITES.
ALL WORK MUST STOP IF A VOID IN THE ROCK SUBSTRATE IS DISCOVERED WHICH IS;
ONE SQUARE FOOT IN TOTAL AREA; BLOWS AIR FROM WITHIN THE SUBSTRATE AND/OR
CONSTANTLY RECEIVES WATER DURING ANY RAIN EVENT. AT THIS TIME IT IS THE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO IMMEDIATELY CONTACT THE SAWS
INSPECTOR FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION.
A MINIMUM OF FOUR (4) INCHES OF TOPSOIL SHALL BE PLACED IN ALL DRAINAGE

WHERE ANY OF THE ABOVE EXCEPTIONS TO FENCING AT A TREE'S DRIP LINE
RESULT IN AREAS OF UNPROTECTED ROOT ZONES (UNDER DRIP LINES) WHERE
HEAVY TRAFFIC IS EXPECTED, COVER THOSE AREAS WITH FOUR (4) INCHES OF
ORGANIC MULCH OR GRAVEL TO MINIMIZE SOIL COMPACTION.
ALL FINISHED PRUNING MUST BE DONE ACCORDING TO RECOGNIZED,
APPROVED STANDARDS OF THE INDUSTRY (REFERENCE THE NATIONAL

SOIL COMP ACTION IN THE ROOT ZONE AREA RESULTING FROM
VEHICULAR TRAFFIC OR STORAGE OF EQUIPMENT OR MATERIALS;

FIELD REVISIONS TO THE EROSION/SEDIMENTATION CONTROL PLAN MAY BE

SPILLED POLLUTANTS, INCLUDING OIL, PAINT, FUELS, ANTIFREEZE, SOLVENTS, ETC..
CONTRACTOR TO KEEP ACCURATE RECORDS (SUCH AS RECEIPTS, COPIES OF ANALYTICAL
RESULTS, ETC.) INDICATING PROPER DISPOSAL OF SPILLED MATERIALS. FURTHERMORE,
CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT ALL DISCHARGES FROM THE
CONSTRUCTION AREA ARE IN COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE REGULATIONS. NO
SUBSTANCE SHALL BE DUMPED OR LEAKED ONTO THE GROUND OR ALLOWED TO
RUNOFF FROM THE CONSTRUCTION SITE THAT MIGHT CAUSE POLLUTION.
EQUIPMENT SHALL BE CLEANED IN A MANNER THAT DOES NOT CREATE ANY
DISCHARGE OF CLEANING AGENTS, PAINT, OIL OR OTHER POLLUTANTS TO A
