• X entered the Lok Sabha for the first time during the 2nd general
elections of 1957.
• X remained a member of parliament for 47 years, elected 11 times to
the Lok Sabha, and twice to the Rajya Sabha.
• The then PM Jawaharlal Nehru, while introducing X to a visiting foreign
dignitary once said " This young man one day will become the country's
Prime Minister".

29th June, 2012 in Delhi.
• The quiz competition, or 'Prashnotri Pratiyogita' is an annual event
funded by NGO Samarpan Foundation. This year Quizworks got this
special opportunity to hold the event, titled 'Hum Kisi Se Kam Nahi'.
• It was a nail biting finish with three teams tied at the same score with
the last question left on buzzer. The winning team was awarded Rs.

• However we know him by another name and for other aliases that he
adopted over his life time.

• X was originally named ‘Namgyal Wangdi’, but as a child his name was
changed on the advice of the head lama.
• X’s name translates as "wealthy-fortunate-follower-of-religion”.
• He ran away from home twice in his teens, first to Kathmandu and
later Darjeeling.
• He was once sent to Tengboche Monastery to become a monk, but he
decided that religion was not for him and departed once again and
created history.
