The document outlines an "inception deck" process for quickly designing solutions that matter. It describes breaking attendees into cross-functional teams and having them rapidly generate personas, prioritize features, create user journeys, and develop an elevator pitch for a mobile app to help tourists in Barcelona explore the local area. The teams then presented their initial ideas and the document reflects on what was achieved, including validating assumptions, scoping the initial problem, and creating a shared vision in a low-risk, iterative way within the time-boxed session.

9. The challenge
Design a mobile app to help people new to Barcelona and
Catalonia explore all that the area has to offer from a local's
perspective.
10. Rules
● Be positive!
● No right and wrong
● Work as a team, share responsibilities
● Challenge the status quo
● User needs vs Business needs
● Focus and keep moving forward (clock is ticking!)
● Have fun!
● GO!
11. Form Teams
Design, dev, test, business, other
Tip: get a good mix & form cross functional teams
3 min
Tips: Talk to each other, you are the target audience, delegate
tasks (don't all work on the same thing at once), you can go
back, redo and add things. Work fast. Do just enough and
move on! Relax and have fun
12. Who am I?
Complete empathy maps.
Fill in the various sections creating a persona for the person
you are building the app for.
Tips: interview each other, think about the tourists too.
"See" = motivation (e.g. find a specific item)
"Do" = features (e.g. search)
10 min
13. What do I want to do? (what are the
features?)
Generate, group and prioritize features (story mapping)
Tips: most important user needs with max business value,
20/80 rule. Dot vote to prioritize - ask would 'you' use it?
10 min
14. Can I use it?
User Journeys, sketch, paper prototype
Tips: "Guerrilla" concept test with each other, me and other
attendees to validate assumptions and interactions
25 min
15. Why should I use it?
Elevator pitch
Tips: a cool brand name and pitch helps match unique selling
proposition (USP) to strongest user motivation, needs, desires,
gaps
10 min
16. Elevator Pitch
For [target user/customer] who wants to
[motivation, need, desire], the [product name]
is a [market category] that
[key benefit, compelling reason to buy] by [USP]
different from [competitors]
17. Elevator Pitch - En poques paraules
Per a [client/usuari ideal] que vol
[motivació, necessitat, desig], el/la [nom del producte]
és un [categoria del producte/mercat] que
[benefici clau] mitjançant
[diferenciació principal, proposta de venta única]
a diferència de [competència]
18. Presentations
prep & present
Tips: Tell a good story. Role play? Sell your product and brand.
Back it up with research and validation.
20 min
20. What did we achieve? Was it agile
enough?
Roles and Responsabilities
Collaborative & inclusive
Challenge the status quo
Time boxed and rapid
Iterative and feedback driven
User needs matched to business value
Shared common vision
Prioritized features
"testable" lo-fi prototype
Presented ideas
Initial project scope
Less time to think too much
Solved problem quickly
Low risk
Ok to fail, just fail forwards!
Fun?
