2. TO COMMAND ONE PERSON:
Invite des copains!
Fais la fête!
N’oublie pas la
date!
** This is the tu form of
the verb without the –s
for –er verbs

3. TO COMMAND A GROUP OF PEOPLE
Invitez des copains!
Faites la fête!
N’oubliez pas la date!
** This is the vous
form of the verb.

4. WHEN YOU’RE INVOLVED TOO :
Invitons les copains!
Faisons la fête!
N’oublions pas la date!
** This is the nous form. It means “Let’s!”

5. L’IMPÉRATIF :COMMANDS!
• Use the “tu” form of the verb when commanding one
person.
Fais tes devoirs!
Viens chez lui!
• For verbs that end in –er (inviter, organiser, parler,
ranger, manger), you have to drop the –s too.
 Invite des amis! Organise! Parle en français!
Range ta chambre!
 Use the vous form when commanding more than one
person.
 Invitez! Organisez! Parlez en français!
Rangez!
 Use the “nous” form when you want to say “Let’s!”
 Invitons des copains! (Let’s invite friends!)
 Organisons une fête! (Let’s organize a party!)
 Parlons en français! (Let’s speak French!)

6. PRATIQUEZ!
o Command the dog in French:
o (Parler) ________________ en anglais!
o (Manger) ______________ ton steak!
o (Venir) _________________ chez moi.
o (Faire) __________________ tes exercices!
• Command all the dogs in French:
• (Parler) ________________ en anglais!

Include yourself and say let’s do these things! You and the dogs!
