Dear Fellow Residents,

The last four years has been exciting, challenging, humbling and rewarding as
your local Councillor.

On the 28th of April, 2012, the local Council elections will be held. I wish to
continue “serving you as your local Councillor”.

In the next four years my priorities are set around roads, the local economy and
independently fighting for the best outcomes for Division 12.

With all this in mind, Division 12 is in the process of receiving a record
$18.5million for local Council roads. This excludes State and Federal roads.

On one occasion, I also tabled a successful petition to fix Homestead road,
Morayfield.

Much of the road rebuilding and upgrading around Division 12 is already
underway with a big emphasis on planning to get it right for the long range future.

Having good roads is a good investment that brings many returns to the
community in ways such as safety, less wear-and-tear on your vehicle and
making this a place people are proud to call theirs.

Another great investment has been the first Moreton Bay Hinterland Visitor
Information Centre (MBHVIC).

To get the MBHVIC project off the ground, I lent my sticker van (yes, I was a sign
writer before becoming a Councillor) which is set up on the D’Aguilar Highway,
Woodford. These humble beginnings for the MBHVIC has taken the experts by
surprise due to the high number of inquires it consistently deals with.

A flow on benefit of having a working information centre is the injection into the
local economy. However, I want to take this a lot further with a Council ‘local buy’
policy.

This is a policy I am taking into my next term. Moreton Bay Regional Council
would be required to ‘weight’ its consideration of each purchase with a local
element.

A similar policy is in use by other Councils giving local businesses a better
opportunity to become suppliers to the biggest purchaser in the region.
Over the coming weeks I will share more of my vision for Division 12 with you.
                                                                                                                                        el

  • 2. What Others Say About Moreton Bay Regional Council 2012 Citizen of the Year Adrian Raedel has been a tremendous asset for our local community. He has supported our Schools, Sporting Clubs, Community Groups, Events, Businesses and Individuals. His mobile offices have allowed him to reach out to all community members within his Division, giving them the opportunities to raise any problems or concerns they may have. He has rallied to “Fix the D’Aguilar Highway” & “The Need For Years 11 and 12 at Woodford.” He has been instrumental in getting the jobs done and campaigning for his Division. Adrian Raedel is a fantastic representative Michelle Hewitt for all people living in Division 12.  Local Resident 40 years  Farmer  Mother of Four  Organiser 2011-2012 Woodford Show Ball and Showgirl/Princess Quest  Co-ordinator and founder of the Woodford Junior “Tremendous Touch Football  Team Manager, Public Relations, Coach and Club Official for Wamuran Little Athletics Club Asset”  Advocate in “The need for years 11 and 12 at Woodford” “More than willing”
  • 3. Adrian Raedel... President of the Leukaemia Foundation, Caboolture Branch “Has earned the respect” Jane McMillan Adrian Raedel gives so much of his time (often late at night and on weekends) to the Leukaemia Foundation. He has raised thousands of dollars and even dug into his own pockets. “Adrian One word: “Irreplaceable” went far and beyond” ddison Ron Ma ent I write to strongly endorse my support toward Councillor Adrian Raedel, “Responds quickly” Presid r of Moreton Bay Regional Council, for his ongoing support to the Stanley ers Junio Stanley Riv ague Rugby L e River Junior Rugby League Football Club. In the 2011 floods Adrian went far and beyond any expectations in support of this community, he earned the respect of so many during that time. • 4. Dear Fellow Residents, The last four years has been exciting, challenging, humbling and rewarding as your local Councillor. On the 28th of April, 2012, the local Council elections will be held. I wish to continue “serving you as your local Councillor”. In the next four years my priorities are set around roads, the local economy and independently fighting for the best outcomes for Division 12. With all this in mind, Division 12 is in the process of receiving a record $18.5million for local Council roads. This excludes State and Federal roads. On one occasion, I also tabled a successful petition to fix Homestead road, Morayfield. Much of the road rebuilding and upgrading around Division 12 is already underway with a big emphasis on planning to get it right for the long range future. Having good roads is a good investment that brings many returns to the community in ways such as safety, less wear-and-tear on your vehicle and making this a place people are proud to call theirs. Another great investment has been the first Moreton Bay Hinterland Visitor Information Centre (MBHVIC). To get the MBHVIC project off the ground, I lent my sticker van (yes, I was a sign writer before becoming a Councillor) which is set up on the D’Aguilar Highway, Woodford. These humble beginnings for the MBHVIC has taken the experts by surprise due to the high number of inquires it consistently deals with. A flow on benefit of having a working information centre is the injection into the local economy. However, I want to take this a lot further with a Council ‘local buy’ policy. This is a policy I am taking into my next term. Moreton Bay Regional Council would be required to ‘weight’ its consideration of each purchase with a local element. A similar policy is in use by other Councils giving local businesses a better opportunity to become suppliers to the biggest purchaser in the region. Over the coming weeks I will share more of my vision for Division 12 with you. el rs, Raed Chee Adr ian A number of Community Achievements It is by working together as a community that we have achieved great things for Division 12.
