The Incas were skilled in various art forms including wood art, painting, textiles, sculpture, metalwork, ceramics, and architecture. Their wood art called keros were painted wooden vessels used as decorations. Painting was seen in murals and mantles depicting scenes of everyday life. Textiles were created using vertical and horizontal looms to produce wool and cotton with scenes woven in. Sculpture and metalwork demonstrated their stone carving and metal object making abilities, while ceramics showed their skill in hand modeling pottery without the use of potter's wheels. Incan architecture was characterized by simplicity, solidity, symmetry and harmonizing with the landscape.
