5. ABOUT START UP VILLAGE
Startup Village is a Not-for-profit business Incubator based in Kochi,
Kerala.
Started in April,2012.
It is India’s first incubator that is funded jointly by the public and
private sector.
The promoters of Startup Village are Department of Science and
Technology, Government of India, Technopark Trivandrum and Mob
ME Wireless.
7. Aim:-
To be the Asia's number one start-up destination to
launch more than 1000 startups.
Start the search for next billion-dollar Indian Company.
(Till now, Start-up Village has incubated 500+ start-ups)
8. What They Do
They creates an ecosystem that promotes innovation and provides a
platform for youngsters to create cutting-edge technology. Main focus is
on student start-ups and telecom innovation.
Startup Village provides members with workspace, high-speed Internet
connection, legal and intellectual property services and access to high
profile investors.
Companies can also apply for the Startup Village Angel Fund that has been
approved by SEBI. They also have access to all the workshops, networking
events and contests at Startup Village.
9. Incubation program
On 3rd Saturday of every month, Startup Village holds a
community gathering where would-be entrepreneurs can
connect with investors, technology innovators and
famous businesspersons. Interested founders are asked
to come for an open house session.
10. SV Square
In January 2013, Startup Village and the Kerala government
launched an initiative called SVSquare.
Every year, they select promising young entrepreneurs from India
and send them on an all-expense paid trip to the U.S.A.
Aim is to expose the youngsters to the legendary startup
environment in Silicon Valley.
11. Dev1000p
Started in July 2013, Devlooop is one of the biggest
education campaigns.
Aim is to create 1000 professional app developers by
the end of this year.
The program is open to college students all over the
country.
Most recent graduates in India are not job-ready.
To give them practical skills and boost their chances of
getting a great job.

Fin

Fin is a wearable device hardware product which looks like a ring
and it can be fitted into the thumb. There is a bulged portion to
accommodate touch sensor inside it. These sensors detect taps,
swipes and identify various parts of your palm by calculating the
distance moved by the thumb.

In January 2013, Startup Village and the Kerala government launched an initiative called SVSquare. SVSquare (www.svsquare.in) is an initiative by Startup Village and the state government. Every year, we will send promising youngsters from Kerala to Silicon Valley on an all-expense paid trip. The initiative is funded by the state government and we also have immense support from Ms. Asha Jadeja, Founder of Jadeja Motwani Foundation and a famous investor in Silicon Valley. The program was officially launched on 30 January 2013 and so far five students from Kerala have gone to Silicon Valley.
OBJECTIVE:
Our aim is to expose our youngsters to the legendary startup environment in Silicon Valley. This will also give them a chance to interact with some of the coolest tech gurus and entrepreneurs in the world, including the founders of Facebook and Google
What is Dev-1000-P program?
