3. Data Source
This report is based on data collected from around 5,000 Windows phone apps
running AdDuplex SDK v.2 (and higher). The raw data analyzed was collected over the
day of September 20th, 2016 (UTC time) unless otherwise stated.
We have made every attempt to consolidate different reported phone model names
under their canonical retail model names, but it is possible that some of the rare model
name variations were not accounted for.

5. Windows Phone Devices Worldwide
September 20th, AdDuplex
Not much is changing in the
Windows phone world and
top 10 is almost exactly the
same as it was a month ago.
The only difference is that
Lumia 920 is now out of the
top and Lumia 540 is in.
The most popular non-Lumia
phone is Samsung ATIV S at
#31.

Things are a little bit more
fluid on the Windows 10
Mobile front.
Lumia 550 established a
more solid lead over its
upgraded siblings. Lumia 535
and 640 have switched
places since last month.
Lumia 650 outnumbered 950,
and 730 got over 950XL.
The most popular non-Lumia
Windows 10 Mobile phone is
Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL
at #23.

9. Windows Phone OS Versions
September 20th, AdDuplex
No growth in Windows 10
Mobile share this month.
As new Windows 10 phones
are scarce and most people
who wanted (and knew how)
to upgrade their 8.1 phones
already did so, it’s hard to
expect W10M share to
continue growing from any
other source than users of
older phones switching to
other OSes and dropping out
of the ecosystem.
Unless some major new
developments happen…

September 20th, AdDuplex
Things are way more active
inside the Windows 10
Mobile space. Close to 90%
of the users are already on
the latest stable release or
even newer insider builds.
So, if you are developing
apps targeting Windows 10
Mobile primarily, it is quite
reasonable to start using
1607 specific features.

12. Windows 10 (Desktop) Versions
September 20th, AdDuplex
While developers can start
targeting 1607 for their
Windows 10 Mobile-only
apps, it is way more
complicated for universal or
desktop apps.
The majority is still on version
1511. And, while 1607’s
share has more than doubled
in a month (16.2% to 34.5%),
it is still on just a third of all
Windows 10 PCs.
