1. Unit 30 Design for Games
AO3 – Review and
Amend Your Proposal
2. AO3 asks you to review and amend your
proposals.
You are going to do this by
i) evaluating the feedback you have
received, and
ii) amending your proposals accordingly
3. Evaluating Feedback
You will have received
some constructive
criticism about your
plans from you peers
and your Lead Designer.
The first stage is to
consider that criticism
and decide what you are
going to use, and why.
4. Key Features of Evaluating Feedback
For each piece of feedback
● Identify the specific piece of feedback
● Consider the the immediate effect it would have
on your plans – what would it obviously change?
● Consider the knock-on effects it might have on
your wider game design- what else might change
because of it?
● Decide whether or not to act on the feedback and
explain why you've reached that decision
5. AO3 Task
1. Record details of feedback received, your evaluation
of that feedback and your decision to use or ignore it
along with your justification for doing so in writing in a
table
2. Make the identified amendments and developments
to your Planning Document and supporting paperwork
3. Post the amended plans and supporting paperwork
on your blog, along with the evaluation table which will
identify what changes you have made
6. Assessment
All of the above work is required to pass AO3.
Pass – An improvement on your initial plans, but you don't
make best use of the feedback
Merit – Creative and well presented, incorporating good
feedback and showing understanding of game design
Distinction – Shows originality and is well presented. Taken
on the best feedback to improve your plans.
The tasks are designed so that if you complete them in full
you should be working to Distinction
