One thousand of the world’s largest public companies spent $650 billion on research and development in 2014 alone. According to Accenture research, 63 percent of companies have a chief innovation officer, 26 percent still have no system in place to achieve innovation. The problem? In a digital world, R&D is stuck in an analogue rut: siloed, focused on legacy products and services.
