How does your product represent particilar social groups
1.
2. One key ethic of teen drama films is
to cover as much ground as possible
with it's characters. The genre tends
to feature characters of various
backgrounds & lifestyles - exploiting
them all for their stereotypes -often
almost literally throwing them
together in a small , confided space
waiting for the inevitable
catastrophe.
3. It would be almost breaching the
unwritten laws of teen dramas to be
able to pinpoint a particular social
group to which the product may
accurately represent . Similarly , it
would be difficult to pinpoint a
particular social group to which the
product could appeal .
4. One major benefit to having such a
wide array of characters lies in the
way that each character can epitomised
a different social sector.
5. Wolph’s ethics & fashion choices reflect on
that of the punk rock movement. Indeed in
the original script , Brooklyn asks “Why can’t you
just do the respectable clique Punk boy thing and go straight edge already?”.
The character therefore not only not only reflects the particular social group , but
also adds a sense of historic context to the product . This was also achieved with
John Bender in ‘The breakfast club’ .
Wolph
6. Brooklyn possesses feminist ethics ,also
reflected in ‘10 things I hate about you’
character , Katrina . This reflects
feminists and adds further social context .
Brooklyn
7. Eli’s eccentricism reflects on those who
aren’t afraid to think outside of the box .
Not only does this achieve the same effect
as ‘The perks of being a wallflower’s
Patrick but it also encourages others to see
this as a healthy way of thinking.

8. First impressions , it seems that Solis
represents School athletes and Luna shadows
the “nerds” . Delving further into this ,
audience should pick up on how the twins
mirror the common issue in the teenage –
those who are pressured by their parents .
Solis & Luna
9. Pixie represents the teenagers who thrive
off maintaining a seemingly solid social
stance . This is also reflected in
characters like Amanda Jones in ‘Some kind
of wonderful’ .
When Pixie finds her new friends , she
learns about the idea of quality over
quantity .
