My final ppt

Hinweis der Redaktion

  1. Good Morning, Today I am here to present my magazine ‘Lyric Loud’ to you. I chose the name ‘Lyric Loud’ because I feel it is an appropriate name for the genre of magazine I have chosen which is Pop Music
  2. My magazine will entertain my chosen target audience of 12-16 year olds. I chose this age range as I believe that they are the most interested in music and the artists that create this music. As the target audience is 12-16, the magazine would have to be made up of fun and vibrant colours in order to entice and interest the target audience in reading the magazine. The magazine will also be informative to the audience as they will learn about the history of the pop genre and where it originated from. They will also learn how pop music has changed and developed over the years.
  3. The genre of my magazine is pop. I chose this genre because it is very popular within my chosen target audience. Most music that teenagers listen to whether it is on the radio or through a streaming service such as Spotify is pop music. I am basing my magazine ideas off of Capital FM which seems popular within the target audience. Within North London, there are some of the biggest venues for music. One of the large events that takes place in a North London venue (Wembley Stadium) is the Capital Summer Time Ball which is a large pop music event that takes place every year.
  4. This is a visual representation of what my target audience look like.  They will be aged 12-16. I chose this age range because I feel that this is the age at which people are most interested in pop music and going to events. My magazine is aimed more towards girls however I am not restricting boys from buying the magazine and reading it too. The magazine will be open to all religions and ethnic groups with no discriminatory factors. This age range will fit into the social grade of C1 and C2 as their parents may have a good job that brings in a reasonable disposable income that can be distributed to their children to be spent on what they like. This age group would be main streamers as they like what is currently popular and what is value for money. They won’t spend more than what they think is necessary. My secondary audience would be girls of ages 9-11 as although they may also be interested in the genre of the magazine they may not be as interested in spending their money on it and buying it as at this age they are less likely to get a constant disposable income to spend. They are more likely to receive money as and when they do something that is helpful or as a treat. My tertiary audience is the parents of the primary and secondary audience. These would be my tertiary audience as they may pick up the magazine that has been bought if they are bored or it is lying around in the house but would be very unlikely to go into a shop and buy it for themselves
  5. The price of the magazine is £2.75 per monthly issue of the magazine if you buy them one at a time. There is also the option of signing up to the magazine with an annual subscription that will give the individual a 50% discount and they can buy the 12 month subscription for £16.50. This makes it more affordable for the target audience that I am aiming my magazine at as they do not receive their own disposable income. Instead, they receive a small portion of their parents disposable income that they can spend on what they want.
  6. My magazine will have both a hard copy and online version.  In order to make the magazine as eco-friendly as possible, the hard copy magazine will be produced on recyclable and biodegradable paper. This would ensure that the magazine would not be causing harm to the environment. The magazine will be made up of 120 pages per issue which will be filled with interviews, never before seen gossip, competitions and pictures from concerts and events that have taken place over the time period between the editions of the magazine.  The online version will have the same content but will also have links to pre-sale and discounted tickets to events taking place in North London. This could be anything from a single artist concert to a larger event such as Capital Summer Time Ball. This will entice the audience to want to download the online version as well so that they can have a chance of getting the pre-sale and discounted tickets.
  7. The content of my magazine will include interviews and competitions throughout the magazine. The interviews will be from artists within the pop genre who will share information about themselves based on questions that have been submitted by the audience in the previous issues of the magazine. This makes the magazine interactive as the audience can be involved in the magazine through the 'get involved' page on the website.  The interviews would fill up about a page each with pictures related to the interview and the artist taking part in the interview.
  8. This is a sketch of my front cover. I have kept it simple as I don’t want too much to be happening at one time as it may distract the reader from the main image and title of the magazine. I have included all of the relevant content such as: Cover Lines Puffs Skylines Date
  9. This is a sketch of my double page spread I have decided to also keep this simple as individuals within my chosen target audience may not want to read lots of text at one time about one thing. I will have lots of colours on the page to keep it interesting along with half of the double page spread being a collage of pictures from previous Summer Time Ball Events.
  10. Hand them digital layouts
  11. The resources I would need would include: Computer: This would be required to do appropriate editing that could be done on production software to put the aspects of the magazine together Camera: Would require an SD card with enough storage capacity. This would need to be of a professional quality which may require a large amount of the budget for the production Tripod: This would be needed in order to take a photo that is straight as taking a picture by hand may not be the correct angle
  12. The personnel I would need are: Editor: They would work through the shots and interviews and decide what goes where in the magazine and how it is presented Photographer: They would take the photos and edit them Interviewer: They would be in charge of arranging interviews to be used as content for the magazine. They would also carry these interviews out Marketing Manager: They would work on ways to promote the magazine through social media and adverts in shops and on the streets
  13. My magazine will be distributed on a wide range of social media sites. This will ensure that a wide range of individuals within the target audience will discover the magazine as many individuals within the target audience spend a large amount of time each day using these social media sites. If adverts were created to be used on these sites, individuals would see the bright colours of the advert and also see bold information and pictures of big artists which may entice them into looking at the advert which could lead them to buy the magazine.  Many people within my target audience have at least 1 social media platform. These are Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp. Through these methods of social media, people are going to be seeing adverts for the magazine so might be intrigued to read it if their friends are advertising it on their social media. People may also find out about the magazine through word of mouth from people that have already read and subscribed to the magazine.
  14. The magazine could also include sponsorship from different companies who can offer competitions. For example, Capital FM could sponsor an edition of the magazine and put an advert within the magazine with a competition to win a pair of tickets to the summer time ball. This will entice a reader of the target audience as they may not be able to buy a ticket to the summer time ball due to the cost of it. Buying the magazine gives them the chance to win the tickets and go for free. They have only paid the price of the magazine.   I would also market my hard copy of my magazines in large supermarkets such as Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's. This would be a good place to market the hard copy as a lot of magazine aisles are located near the on the go snacks. This is helpful as a lot of teenagers may go into a shop to get a snack for a journey and will go past the magazine aisle. If they have a small amount of time, they may decide to go and look at the magazine aisle and may be caught and intrigued by the magazine. This would lead to them buying it and may decide to subscribe for the annual subscription for the magazine.  I would market my magazine all year round however I would put a much larger focus and push on selling the magazine when there is a event or concert coming up that might interest the target audience. Putting more focus on marketing it at this time means that the target audience are going to be more interested in it. For example, if the Capital Summer Time Ball is coming up, the target audience may be more aware of it as they will want to be in with a chance of winning the tickets.
  15. I would market my magazine on Social Media platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat as these are platforms that the target audience use on a regular basis. Below is examples of how I would market the magazine on these Social Media Platforms.  I would market my magazine on Social Media as the target audience spend a large majority of  their time on Social Media and are more likely to want to read a magazine if it is advertised through a platform that they use on a regular basis. Through Social Media, I can create a link that can be used to access the website to read the magazine on a digital device. This will be of interest to the target audience as they will be more likely to read the magazine on the go when in the car or on their way to school. They may decide that the hard copy is better as they can read it again without having to go through the archives on a website.
  16. This is an advert that is on Instagram. This can be seen as you scroll through your Instagram feed. This would be a good place to advertise and market my magazine as Instagram uses cookies to track what other websites and categories you are looking to show you adverts that are related to what you are researching and looking at regularly. If my primary target audience look at pop music in North London on a regular basis, there is a high chance that the magazine will be advertised to them and they will be enticed into buying the magazine.
  17. This font is called 'Boheniam Typewriter'. I think this font would be appropriate because it is simplistic and easy to read. However, the font is seperated which could connote that the magazine doesn't flow and may be all mixed up.  This font is called ‘Reglisse’. This font is bold and upbeat and will stand out on a shelf of other magazines. This font is called 'Thank You Kobe'. This font is bold and will stand out on a shelf of other magazines. After reviewing this font, I have realised that it would be a better suit to a different genre of music magazine such as a rock magazine. I think this because it is a font that has elements of the font that are separated from the main text. This is similar with genres such as rock. With rock music there are lots of elements of the music happening at once.
  18. These are some ideas of fonts that I may use for the text on my double page spread. I decided it was better to keep my fonts simple so that they are easy to read for the audience.
  19. These are some ideas for my colour scheme I have chosen both vibrant and pastel colours as the artists being interviewed may connote different colours schemes. Some will be more vibrant and upbeat than the others
  20. This magazine is competition to mine because it is of the same genre so will have the same content as mine will.  They have the same appealing looks as I have planned for mine to have. It is colourful with a bold title and a picture of a well known artist. There is other similar aspects between this magazine and mine. These include the sneak peak into articles that are contained within the magazine.  The magazine also has overlapping pictures and text which is a good feature to have because people within my chosen target audience will be enticed and interested by the busy aspects of the magazine. People of that age like magazines that are busy and colourful.
