11. Never give up
• In 1976, Murthy founded Softronics , a company that lasted year and
half . When he realized that his first venture wasn’t taking off , he
moved on .
So he got failure in life but never stopped

• In 1981 , Murthy started Infosys with 10000Rs which was borrowed
from his wife . In few years , Infosys went on to become one of the
largest wealth creators in the country
• According to Murthy :- “Think Big . Don’t hesitate to start small”

philosophy about being open and transparent has given the company
a lot of credibility . He often says , “ when in doubt . Please disclose .”
• Do it first and do it right - Infosys did many things first , and most of
it right , example it was the first Indian company to list on Nasdaq ,
and first Indian company to make it to the Nasdaq 100 list and 1st
Indian company to attain the highest level of quality certificate

• After the IPO , Infosys decided to share their portion of its equity with
employees . This helped them retain talent and gave employees a
sense of ownership .
As a leader he always believed in employee welfare

18. • Cut yourself a slice not a large one :- when Infosys was set up ,
Murthy took a pay cut while salaries of the other co founders were
increased by 10 per cent .

was a problem . Nandha’s future in law were not sure about him .
Murthy met Nandan’s uncle and convinced him

20. • Own up and then clean up :- In 80’s Infosys developed an application
for an German client . Murthy noticed a single character error and
informed the client immediately.
