Exercises – Mobility and stretches lower body
These exercises can be used to increase flexibility in the lower body.
Calf Stretch
1. Gastrocnemius - From standing upright position
take a big step forward.
Bend front leg looking straight ahead with hips and both
feet facing forward. The front knee should be directly over
the ankle. The stretch should be felt in the back lower calf,
and held for 8-10 seconds.
Return to the starting position and repeat on the opposite
side (change legs)
Use wall to brace if unsteady on feet, or need to maintain
balance
2. Soleus position – Using the wall or upright post lean
upper body forward keeping the back straight
bending both knees and keeping heels on the floor
