• Hold shift key to set orientation in a different plane

NO Shift Key: Circle defaults to
drawing on top of face
Pressing Shift Key: Circle stays
oriented to where you started
(doesn’t default to drawing on face)
9. Making Spheres
• Step 1: Draw a circle on the blue plane.

• Step 2: Move mouse cursor far away from circle,
until your cursor turns either green or red. Hold
down shift key!

• Step 3: Draw slightly smaller circle on top of
regular circle, while still holding shift key

large circle

the face of the smaller circle

• Select Tape Measure Tool, click an edge of object
and move mouse onto a face. If you do not see a
grey dotted line, hit CTRL or Command (Mac)
Type in a length and hit enter.

In this case, you have found a point 6 inches away
from both of these two edges.

Essentially just a smaller outline of the shape.

for any shape.
