Part of the Big Data Analytics and Systems team. My work has three broad strands: 1) Hardcore Big Data Systems: from batch (Hadoop-like), real-time (Streams/Storm-like), interactive systems (Spark-like), and resource management (YARN-like) to storage (NoSQL + in-memory) and message queues (MQTT-like) and everything in the middle. 2) Application of Big Data Systems to real-world analytics: Telco, Electricity, Urban Dynamics, etc. 3) Bridging the gap between the technical and non-technical worlds viz evangelism, engaging in research strategy, internal/external presentations, etc.
