ChatGPT ist anhand des Medienaufgebotes aktuell ganz
eindeutig der Platzhirsch, wenn es um KI LLMs (Large
Language Models) geht. Doch ist das nur der Fall, weil
ChatGPT als Erstes auf dem Gebiet eine solche öffentliche
Publikation genossen hat? Oder kann Google Bard (Engl. für
Barde, Sänger, Dichter …) mit 10 Jahren Investition in KI die
virtuelle Krone für sich beanspruchen? Wir haben beide getestet
und sind schwer beeindruckt von den Möglichkeiten und
Fähigkeiten dieser Technologie.

2. OpenAI macht sich bereits seit einigen Jahren öffentlich
bemerkbar. Das erste Mal als ich davon gehört haben, ist als
Sie in dem Videospiel DotA 2 einen Top-Spieler mit Ihrer KI
besiegt haben und dann professionellen Teams gezeigt haben
wie der Hase läuft. Weitere Erfolge waren unter anderem die
Bilder-erzeugende KI DALL-E welches wir in diesem bereits
getestet haben und natürlich auch ChatGPT.
Zu beachten ist, dass ChatGPT aktuell keine vollständige
Internetanbindung genießt, und einige Daten auf dem Stand von
2021 sind. Ist das der Fall, weist der Chatbot jedoch meistens
darauf hin.
Wir haben ChatGPT bereits getestet, die Premium API wird als
Basis vieler KI-Projekte, Plugins und Dienstleistungen genutzt
und wird aufgrund einer Partnerschaft mit Microsoft demnächst
im Microsoft 365 als quasi Clippy-Ersatz eingeführt.
Google Bard
Google’s Bard Chatbot ist eine direkte Antwort zum ChatGPT
und bei weitem nicht so alt wie das originale GPT vom Jahr
2018

3. Jedoch hat Google bereits 10 Jahre Erfahrung mit KI-Forschung
und Anwendung in etlichen Produkten wie YouTube, Google
Assistant, Smarthome und Android. Zusätzlich wird Bard
namensgebend als Spezialist für kreative Anfragen vermarktet.
Als Beispiele werden Songtexte, Poesie und sogar
Programmcode aufgezählt.
Bard soll kurzfristig in bis zu 180 Länder verfügbar werden,
aktuell müssen wir jedoch mit einer VPN-Verbindung zu USA
arbeiten und ist bis auf Weiteres als experimentell eingestuft
und daher nicht für kommerzielle Zwecke empfohlen.
Der Vergleich | ChatGPT vs. Bard
Wir haben als Test einige Anfragen von beiden Chatbots erprobt
und die Antworten hier verglichen. Damit beide Chatbots ein
Heimspiel haben, wurden alle Anfragen in englischer Sprache
gestellt.
Pro ChatGPT
Als Erstes fällt uns auf, dass die Antworten vom ChatGPT direkt
nach der Anfrage dargestellt werden, also ist es schneller. Zeit
erkauft sich das Programm, indem es ein Wort nach dem
Anderen darstellt. Das lässt die KI zumindest etwas organischer
erscheinen. Zudem werden hier Texte bevorzugt dargestellt,
was evtl. aufgrund der API-Kosten Zusammenstellung schneller
Kosten entstehen lässt, jedoch je nach Anfrage aber auch das
ein oder andere Detail mehr hergibt.
Es steht zumindest in bei unseren Poesie und Songtext
Anfragen Bard nicht nach und verblüfft mit den belustigenden
Antworten.

4. stellen, sind zwar nicht immer korrekt, bringen jedoch oftmals
gute Ansätze, die uns im hitzigen Augenblick unter Umständen
nicht eingefallen wären.

Bard kann Tabellen darstellen, die wir bei monatelanger
ChatGPT Nutzung noch nicht bemerkt haben. Zusätzlich sind
die Antworten wie eine Google Suche, komplett abgefertigt
innerhalb weniger Sekunden vollständig dargestellt. Bard hat
einen Zugriff auf Google und kann daher Fragen zu top
aktuellen Themen bearbeiten. Was jedoch keine Garantie zu
dem Inhalt darstellt.
Die Antworten sind oftmals strukturierter und haben bieten mehr
als nur Stichpunkte. Bard stellt bei einigen Anfragen Pro und
Kontra sowie Aufzählungen und Zitate dar.

überall ausprobiert und eingesetzt. Dabei lernt die Maschine
beinahe organisch, anhand von etlichen Beispielen und
Wiederholungen, ein gewisses Thema. Erstellt anhand des
Gelernten ein komplexes Modell und nutzt letztendlich das
Modell, um Aufgaben in diesem Themengebiet zu lösen,

verarbeiten und muss nicht zuerst einen Server befragen. Das
ist schneller, effizienter und gibt dem Nutzer zumindest etwas
Privatsphäre.
