3. In year 2000 the family of the 6 year old Andreas
addressed through the media to all Cypriots to find a
compatible donor to cure Andreas’ leukaemia. A donor
was found and Andreas travelled to the USA for the
surgery.
The surgery was expected to be very difficult.
Therefore, Andrea’s parents called the Abbot Monk
Kyprianos of Saint Marina Monastery in Andros and
asked him to pray for their child. The Monk said to
them that he would pray and wished that Saint Marina
would be in the surgery theatre by Andreas.
4. Some time before the surgery, a lady asked the head doctor
for permission to be present during the surgery, as she
claimed to be Andreas’ personal doctor. The request was at
first declined but the lady found a way to convince the head
doctor. She was asked to register her name at the nurses’
office and shortly after the surgery begun.
The surgery was a success. The head doctor informed
Andreas’ parents of the successful surgery. He also said that
their lady doctor was a great help and gave him significant
guidelines.
The parents replied that they had no idea about any lady
doctor and all together looked for her. She was not found
anywhere. Then they immediately checked the book where
the lady signed. She wrote: MARINA OF ANDROS!!!
