4. Introduction of Organization
ELMEC International is one of the most competitive firms with the
experience of more than two decades under its belt in the field of
Heating, Air-Conditioning (HVAC).
We are the authorized distributor of Fujitsu General Japanese Brand,
and handling Environmental System in Pakistan.

 What is Air Conditioning?
Ans: Air Conditioning is conditioning of air by controlling following factors.
1. Heating/Cooling
2. Air Flow
3. Dehumidification
4. Humidification
5. Filtration/Ventilation
6. Noise
 Why HVAC?
Ans: To create a comfortable environment and zone in which humans can work,
live, sleep & play.

6. Fabrication and hanging of duct
Fabrication of duct involves sheet metal, which is cut into the appropriate size by
professional craftsmen. Most ducts are made from galvanized steel, which has been
coated with zinc in order to prevent rust from forming.

7. Copper pipes and their insulation:
Why insulation of copper pipes Is necessary
Copper pipe insulation can save you from disaster during the cold winter months by
protecting the pipes from freezing. According to horizon services standing:
water in pipes can freeze as the temperature drops, causing the pipes to expand and
form cracks. In severe cases, pipes can even burst. This danger is why it’s critical to
protect exposed pipes in the winter by insulating them.
Pipe insulation can also cut down on energy costs. Insulation limits the heat transfer
from the pipes and will ultimately decrease the energy spent to maintain
temperatures

I was assigned different within my internship program which are as follows:
 To calculate duct work and copper pipe work at site.
 To Surveying sites ahead of fitting heating, or air conditioning systems.
 To Planning the placement of pipework, ducts and control panels.
 To Installing HVAC components.
 Performing quality checks to ensure systems are working efficiently and safely.
 Carrying out maintenance on HVAC systems.
 Finding and fixing faults.
 To calculate the total amount to complete the project.

The internship is a bridge between the theoretical knowledge and the practical or the reality work at the field
manufacturing and Mechanical engineering work. We all who take the internship class go to companies that
already working on the projects with aspects of mechanical engineering. The responsibilities of the hosting
company are to teach student and shape them to handle problems and its solution that a mechanical engineer
face in the field. My hosting company is HVAC Contracting company they helped me in the internship session
in this company in acquiring different knowledge in different positions. They collaborate with us to teach us in
that section and they believe that the mechanical engineering work is more important for us than to the office
work which was just making excel sheet for tallying of data. In my internship I got to know that every firm has
its own flaws and opportunities. My hosting company has edge that distinguish it from other HVAC Companies
that they are the sole distributors of Fujitsu General in Pakistan and partnership with foreign brands that are
recognized in the world for their work.
