Meighan Brodkey - Join in the fun and build your own Lightning Community! Learn about the Lightning Templates and how they work, what the differences are between Templates, Themes, and Components. Bring your dev org and explore the Community Builder including the record detail and list pages, OOTB Components that are available, custom components, the AppExchange, what your branding options are, how to customize pages and setup pages for a custom audience, how to use the audience feature on components, and when to use the custom page audience vs the component audience option. Then it’s the fun part, customize yeur community – including adding objects (we’ll go over licenses – Customer Community, Customer Community Plus, and Partner and impact of each), make a homepage, add a custom logo, branding, and a header image. From there we will dive into the additional Community Workspace tiles, and talk CMS, Moderation and Guided Setup. To see the community in action everyone will create a user to login to their own community and see what you have built as an end user! It’s going to be an amazing adventure – ending with where to find resources, tips & tricks, lessons learned (some the hard way), and time for questions. Hope to see you there!

Community Builder: Branding
The paintbrush is your branding and theme.
You control your theme, colors, images, fonts, hero size, page
width, and more within the branding options of the Community
Builder.
12. #YeurDreamin2019
Community Builder: Branding
Your theme lets you change the look of the template in your
community without changing the functionality.
You can install themes from the AppExchange, Build Your Own
(custom development), or use the out of the box options.
They are a great way to give a big impact change without having
functionality changes.
Keep in mind, just because you aren’t changing what your
community does doesn’t mean you can just switch it, test, test,
test!!!
Themes bring new levels of depth to the look and feel of your
community, spend time playing with each one and the options
they have for UI/UX

Community Builder: Branding
You can either Upload an image and the builder will take the colors from
the image for you, or you can enter individual hex codes.
Different themes will have different options available for you to enter for
your branding.

Community Builder: Branding
Theme settings vary based on your theme.
You control the different options available with the bottom link in
the Branding options.
Page width is a great option here, previously there was white
space to the sides - the width option here helps remove that white
space and ensure you are taking optimal advantage of the space
you have.

Navigation Menu
The Navigational Menu is shared across
the community by all users on all pages,
for the most part.
Users only see what they have access to.
Eg. If you have the Salesforce Object
Accounts listed in Navigation, and the
User cannot see accounts they will not see
the Accounts Option in the Navigation.
You can select pages, External URLS,
Actions, or Object Lists for Navigation
Items, all declarative.
You can make a dynamic URL using the
repo here for My Account and My Profile

Permission Sets
• You will want to create 2 different permission sets
▪ To create Custom Badges
▪ To Give Custom Recognition Badges
• Why?
▪ Limiting who can create and assign the custom badges helps keep
them special
▪ Helps prevent duplicates
▪ Ensures that there is criteria around them
▪ That the access to community management is limited (creating
badges)
▪ That those who are given them have truly earned them

• Guided setup helps you to have setup by setup how to’s on setting up
your community functionality.
• It assists with Market Development funds, Leads, Opportunities, Content,
Help Center, and more
• It covers everything from approvals to sharing sets to permissions
• I highly recommend it even for seasoned community builders to make
sure you didn’t miss anything, I personally go back to make sure I didn’t
miss something when I do a setup
44. #YeurDreamin2019
• Each tile is broken into
different sections for
you to mark as
complete
• You don’t have to use
every section, and the
sections hyperlink for
you to different areas in
