and Value to Support Home Automation and
Security Systems at Volante
Volante by XtremeVision, Dubai –UAE
XtremeVision is a Dubai based property
development company which is known for innovative
projects such as Le Rêve and Private Villa. Its latest
project, named Volante, is a luxury residential tower
in the heart of Dubai. Construction on the project
started in June 2013 and is scheduled for completion
by the end of 2016.
Located in Business Bay, Volante provided
the perfect blank canvas for the developers’ latest
innovation. That is to integrate Progressive Home
Automation to the whole tower to create a leading-
edge residential unit with fully automated and
integrated audio-visual, lightning and security
features.
The high tech tower has a futuristic architecture
and a contemporary décor. It also features a total of
210 apartments across 26 floors.
The Need: a Reliable Wireless Network
Infrastructure that Provides Whole Home
Coverage
The project involved the control, automation
and integration of lighting, heating, ventilation, air
conditioning, appliances, and security. Therefore, there
was a need for a reliable and robust wireless network
as it is critical to ensure that the network monitoring

system is able to continuously monitor the status of
the various devices on the network.
In addition, given that the tower is a high end
luxury residential building, the system integrator did
not have the luxury of placing wireless access points
exactly where they needed them to be. Therefore,
there was a need for not just reliable and fast, but for
powerful APs that can cover wide areas to ensure
that the automation system can communicate reliably
with all of the devices.
The Solution: The EnGenius Neutron
Series Wireless Management Solution
Volante needed a solid, sustainable
technology solution on which to base its home
automation platform. The EnGenius Neutron Series
was the optimal choice as it is a scalable solution for
large properties that need to deploy, monitor, and
manage numerous access points.
Volante installed 300 EWS360AP Neutron
Series Dual-Band Wireless Managed Indoor Access
Points. Their high transmits power and Band Steering
Shift feature ensured a longer range and enhanced
wireless coverage. To centrally manage and monitor
the Access Points, they installed 7 EWS5912FP
Neutron Series 8-Port GigE 130W PoE+ Wireless
Management Controller and Switch.
The Results: a Fully Automated High-end
Luxury Building in the Heart of Dubai
The EnGenius Neutron Series was very easy to
deploy, saving Volante money by decreasing the setup
time and reducing the number of access points that
were needed. In addition, the attractive and
unobtrusive design of the APs easily blended in with
the interior décor of apartments.
The EnGenius Neutron Series now supports
Volante Automation system across all floors and
apartments including IP cameras, lighting and air
conditioners system. It provided the reliability and
performance of an enterprise-class wireless networking
solution at a lower price, making it the ideal
complementary accessory to XtremeVision’s quest
towards creating the perfect living environment.
