• Don’t be too straightforward when showing your interests: “We support
Maduro because we have businesses with him”. Instead, highlight Maduro’s
and the “revolution” achievements.

• Propose solutions according to your country’s views:
• If you are for Maduro:
• Propose that elections should be held without the intervention of other nations or Western
economic powers
• State that Venezuela should solve its problems on its own according to the principle of non-
intervention and self-determination of peoples.
• Lift sanctions on the country (they say that these sanctions cause famine and starvation)
• If you are against Maduro:
• Propose transparent elections with international observers
• Propose the punishment of Human Rights abuses
• Propose a coalition of countries in order to solve the situation: You can decide, either through an
armed conflict or peaceful elections.
5. Language
• Use a formal register. Go to www.thesaurus.com and look for more formal
words
• Be careful with gramar: Use the present tense and present perfect for most of
your paper (Almost all events are in the present)
• Be careful with the use of the Word “actually”. I’ve said this many times!
• Be extra careful with punctuation.

• You should turn this in in the same document where you’re doing your paper
in Spanish with Miss Cinthya (Next page). It should also have the heading and
the flag.
