International Symposium on “COVID 19 and beyond:
The new normal in Higher Education Institutions”
J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad organised an International Symposium on
“COVID 19 and beyond: The new normal in Higher Education Institutions”. The symposium covered the broad areas
of teaching pedagogies of future and wellbeing of students in the wake of Covid-19 Pandemic in two sessions on
10/06/2020
Symposium commenced with the presidential address by Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Dinesh Kumar. He
welcomed all the experts and the participants and discussed about the issues and concerns in the HEI’s related to pan-
demic.
In the first session, Vice Chancellor of Shri vishwakarma Skill University Sh. Raj Nehru was the chief guest and Di-
rector of MNIT, Jaipur Prof. Uday Kumar was the Chief Guest in the second session. Dr Linda Amrane-Cooper from
University of London, London and Dr Dana Rad, Associate Professor from Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad, Romania
were special guests and invited speakers in the Program.
Dean (Quality) and Program Coordinator Prof Sandeep Grover informed that the symposium got overwhelming re-
sponse and had participants from 16 different states of the country and also from other countries like Germany, Neth-
erlands, Malaysia and Thailand. About 900 participants attended the symposium which was also telecasted live on
YouTube.
Speaking on this occasion, Vice Chancellor applauded the role of Techno-Professionals for providing good connec-
tivity of internet during the Pandemic. He stressed on the need of identification of key challenges being faced by
teachers and students in the present scenario and to provide solutions to such challenges.
Vice Chancellor also emphasised the development of robust infrastructure for technology enabled teaching-learning
and said that we have to ensure that students and teachers are fully equipped for the digital transformation in higher
education. Also, we have to ensure that cent per cent students get access to education and not a single student is left
behind. Accordingly, we have to find ways to impart skills to the students using online mode, he added.

Workshop on ‘Writing Good Research Publications and Use of e-
Resources Effectively’
To make the students and faculty members aware about the various e-resources available in the University and to en-
courage them for writing quality research papers, Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Central Library of J.C. Bose University of
Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridahad in collaboration with Digital India Cell has organized a two-day work-
shop on ‘Writing Good Research Publications and Use of e-Resources Effectively’.
The workshop was inaugurated by Registrar Dr. S.K. Garg and asked the students and faculty members to make best
of use of e-resources and encouraged them for writing of quality research papers.
All deans and Chairpersons were also present on this occasion. The workshop has been coordinated by Librarian Dr.
P.N. Bajpai and Nodal Officer of Digital India Cell Dr. Neelam Duhan.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar has appreciated the initiative taken by the Central Library and Digital India Cell
for organizing the workshop and emphasized the importance of conducting such workshops for proper understanding
of utilization of e-resources in research work for scholars. In his address, Dr. Bajpai briefed about the workshop. He
said that the objective behind organising this workshop was to encourage the students and faculty members for the
usage of e-resources available with the University. The invited resource persons for the workshop were Mr. Vishal
Gupta, Customer Consultant South Asia from Elsevier, Mr. Prakash Sachan, Senior Sales Executive, North India, Tay-
lor and Francis Group and Mr. Jai Pal from J-Gate Discovery.

Republic Day Celebration
The J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology,
YMCA, Faridabad celebrated 71st Republic Day with
patriotic fervor and gaiety. The Vice Chancellor of Uni-
versity, Prof. Dinesh Kumar hoisted the Tri-colour in the
University premises.
Vice Chancellor also took the salute at impressive march-
past presented by the Security Officials, NCC Cadets and
NSS volunteers of the University and addressed the gath-
ering.
(MoU) with Mazandaran Institute of Technology (MIT), Babol,
Iran
J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology (JC Bose UST), YMCA, Faridabad has signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) with Mazandaran Institute of Technology (MIT), Babol, Iran to promote research, joint projects
and exchange of faculty and students on 10/01/2020
The MoU was signed by Dean (Academics) Prof. Vikram Singh of JC Bose UST and Deputy Vice Chancellor
(Research) Prof. Ghasem Najafpour from MIT Babol in the presence of Registrar Dr. S.K Garg and other senior offi-
cials of the University. Prof. Naveen Kumar from Delhi Technological University, Director, International Affairs Dr.
Shilpa Sethi, Deputy Director, International Affairs Dr. Rajeev Saha were also present on this occasion.
This academic tie-up was matured during the 8th International Symposium on Fusion of Science and Technology
(ISFT-2020) after the detailed discussion to work in academic collaboration on the areas of mutual interests.
Under the agreement, both the Universities, working in field of Science, Technology, Research and Innovation, have
shown their commitment to make efforts in developing and expanding research and academic cooperation within a
systematic framework.

Distribution of Ration Packets
The University distributed Dry Ration Packets, con-
taining atta, rice, dal, salt and cooking oil etc, to the
families of construction labours. The University has
provided shelter to these families within the campus
after the suspension of construction work in various
University Projects due to Nation-wide Lockdown
In prevaling situation due to nation lockdown im-
posed by the Government to prevent corona virus
(COVID-19) pandemic, these labours have become
jobless and cannot move their native place.

Webinar on ‘Art of Digital Media Production’
The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Media Studies of J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad
organized a webinar on ‘Art of Digital Media Production’ as a part of its ongoing webinar series with the title
‘Samvaad’ from 15/06/2020 to 18/06/2020
Dr Paramveer Potiala from Central University of Punjab, Bathinda and Mr. Suresh Verma from Jamia Milia Islamia
University, Delhi were expert speakers in the webinar. The session was presided over by Chairperson of the Depart-
ment Dr. Atul Mishra and welcomed the invited speakers. The session was session moderated by Assistant Professor
(JMC) Dr. Sonia Hooda.
Addressing the session, Mr. Suresh Verma shared his experiences with the students and answered some common que-
ries on writing of a compelling script in digital age.
Dr. Paramveer talked about different phases of development of camera devices. He elaborated various camera shots
and angles, besides art and skills involved in it.

World day against Child Labour
National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of the University
organized a webinar to mark the "World Day against Child
Labour" on June 12, 2020
In his address, Mr. Phool Kumar insisted on providing
education and further career opportunities to every chil-
dren. He enthused NSS volunteers to take care of deprived
children in their vicinity and offered any kind of coopera-
tion and help possible from his front.
NIRF Ranking 2020
J.C. Bose University of Science & Technology, YMCA Faridabad becomes first only State owned Government Uni-
versity/Institute from Haryana, to feature in the Top 120 Engineering Institutions as per MHRD NIRF Ranking 2020.
Also, the University has made its presence in top 100 Management Institutions in the Country.
The University has secured its place among the top 120 Engineering Institutions in the Country, after competing with
1071 Engineering Institutions participated in NIRF Ranking 2020 for Engineering Category. This is fourth consecu-
tive year when the University has been ranked in the NIRF Ranking.
This year, the University has participated for the first time in the Management Category of NIRF Ranking and made
its presence in the Rank-band 76-100, the only State owned Institution to get ranked in Management Category.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar has congratulated all the faculty members, students and staff for University’s
performance in NIRF Ranking-2020.

International Yoga Day
J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology,
YMCA, Faridabad celebrated 6th International Day of
Yoga in a befitting manner on 21/06/2020
About 200 participants performed yoga in the online
session arranged by the University on the digital plat-
form following the Common Yoga Protocol issued by
the Ministry of AYUSH. The event was organised by
the office of Dean Student Welfare in association with
MOB, the Alumni Association of the University and
technical support provided by University’s Commu-
nity College for Skill Development (CCSD).

'Elements Culmyca-2020
International webinar on ‘My industry experience as a soft-
ware engineer’
Department of Computer Engineering, J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, Faridabad organized an Inter-
national webinar on the topic ‘My industry experience as a software engineer’ for the students of B.Tech CE and IT
6th semester and MCA 4th semester.
At the onset, Dean-Faculty of Informatics and Computing Dr. Komal Kumar Bhatia and Mr. Ashbir Singh welcomed
the speaker.
The webinar was delivered by Mr. Pranav Sheron who is presently working with facebook. Mr. Pranav talked about
the basic aspects of Agile in industry. He shared his own experiences how and why western corporations can no longer
just rely on the old formula that sustained innovation and growth for decades: a mix of top-down strategies, expensive
R&D projects and rigid, highly structured innovation process.
The webinar was concluded with a question-answer session in which the students participated with great zeal. Stu-
dents also clarified their doubts through one-to-one interaction with the expert.

Donation to Corona Relief fund
International Women’s Day
J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad felicitated women achievers of different fields in
a function organized to mark the International Women’s Day on 06/03/2020.
Director of CSIR’s National Institute of Science Technology and Development Studies (CSIR-NISTADS) Dr. Ranjana
Aggarwal was Chief Guest of the function. The Programme was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh
Kumar. Registrar Dr. S.K. Garg, Dean (Quality Assurance) Dr. Sandeep Grover were also present on this occasion.
The Programme was convened by the Chairperson, Women Welfare Dr. Neetu Gupta and Dr. Anuradha Sharma and
coordinated by Dr. Sapna Gambhir. Those who were felicitated on this occasion were Social Activist Dr. Darshana
Gupta and Uma Gupta, Educationist Dr. Jyotsana Singh and Dr. Maya Yadav, Media Personality Ekta Raman, Busi-
ness Women Jacqueline Jindal, Gynaecologist Dr. Usha Gupta, Happiness and Wellness Coach Pooja Gupta.

Blood Donation Camp
J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad
in collaboration with Faridabad Unit of Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP)
with the support of Red Cross Society organized a Blood Donation
Camp in the University on 26/02/2020 in which more than 200 units
of blood were collected.
The blood donation camp started at 9.30 am and continued up to 4
pm, which was formally inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner
Faridabad Yashpal Yadav and Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar
in the presence of Registrar Dr. Sunil Kumar Garg and officials of
Bharat Vikas Parishad Faridabad. On behalf of the University, the
camp was coordinated by NSS and Youth Cross Wing of the Univer-
sity under the supervision of Dean Students Welfare (DSW) Dr.
Naresh Chauhan and Deputy DSW Dr. Sonia Bansal
Workshop on Machine Learning
An online workshop on Machine Learning was con-
ducted by the faculty of Informatics and Computing of
the University on 23/05/2020. Mr. Vivek Mittal, Senior
Staff Engineer at Synopsys India (P) Ltd was key
speaker in the workshop and delivered the expert lecture
on Basic concepts of Artificial Intelligence, Machine
Learning, Data Engineering, Natural Language Process-
ing (NLP) and Networks. As many as 151 participants
attended the workshop.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar was the Chief
Guest in inaugural session. The session was presided
over by Dean of Informatics and Computing Dr. Komal
Kumar Bhatia.
Vice Chancellor said that the technologies like Artificial
intelligence and machine learning could play a decisive
role in stopping the Covid-19 pandemic and the future
of post-pandemic industrial development. He said that
in the present crisis, engineering and technocrats have to
come forward to provide technology based solutions for
the betterment of society.
In his expert lecture, Mr. Vivek Mittal talked about how
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning will hold
the key to a better future as more and more companies
would adopt technology to reduce human interventions.
A week-long Faculty Development Program on
“Advance Research Methods” organized by the Depart-
ment of Management Studies was inaugurated by Vice
Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar. Vice-Chancellor of
D.Y. Patil Education Society, Kohlapur Prof. Rakesh
Kumar Mudgal was keynote speaker of the inaugural
session from 08/06/2020 to 12/06/2020.
Chairperson of the Department Dr. Ashutosh Nigam
welcomed the guests and participants and explained the
significance of the Program.
Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dinesh Kumar empha-
sised the importance of advanced research methods by
amplifying their use in research for the betterment of the
academics. He appreciated the Department for taking
such initiative to promote academic research.
Prof. Rakesh Mudgal accentuated that knowledge is
acquiring of facts and proper implementation and inter-
pretation leads to wisdom. He pointed out that technol-
ogy should be used in a productive manner. He con-
gratulated the University for enriching the participants
with tools and techniques to co-create knowledge and
evolve the society at large.
A total of 87 participants from various colleges and In-
stitutes attended the e-session through the Zoom appli-
cation. The session concluded with a thanks note by Dr
Rupali Madan and Ms Jyotsana Chawla, coordinators of
the event.

Expert lecture on ‘’Dream and
Achieve”
To encourage students to develop self-motivation during
amid Corona crisis, the Dean Student Welfare of J.C.
Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA,
Faridabad organized an expert lecture for students on
‘Dream and Achieve’ by eminent speaker Ms. Sonal
Goel, CEO of Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited
(GMCBL) and Additional CEO of Gurugram Metro-
politan Development Authority (GMDA) on 27/05/2020
The Lecture Session was presided over by Vice Chan-
cellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar. The Vice Chancellor wel-
comed the keynote speaker and extended gratitude for
sparing her valuable time to deliver a motivational lec-
ture to the students. The lecture session was convened
Dean Student Welfare Dr. Lakhwinder Singh and coor-
dinated by Dy. Dean (Students Activities) Dr. Sonia.
Registrar Dr. S.K. Garg was also present on this occa-
sion.

The three-day Aatma-Nirbhar Bharat – Hackathon com-
petition organized by the Institution’s Innovation Coun-
cil (IIC) of J.C. Bose University of Science and Tech-
nology, YMCA, Faridabad on 22/05/2020
Sh. Sukhdev Singh, Director, Hind Hydraulics & Engi-
neers was the chief guest in the valedictory function
which was held in the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof.
Dinesh Kumar.
Sh. Sukhdev Singh applauded the initiative taken by the
University to conduct such kind of event to encourage
young minds to apply their skills in right direction.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar congratulated the
members of IIC and organizing team for successfully
conducting the event. He said that events of such kind
provide a platform to students to exhibit their skills and
talent and inspire them to do something for the better-
ment of society. He also extended best wishes to the
winners of the competition. Registrar Dr. S.K. Garg and
TEQIP Coordinator Dr. Munish Vashisth were also pre-
sent on this occasion. The first prize was won by team
Cybercrats who developed a platform for users to know
about the servicing and maintenance cost of a vehicle.

ing solution to Agriculture Sector and concept of virtual
grain market

To bridge the skill gap between academia and industry,
the Department of Electronics Engineering of J.C. Bose
University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Farida-
bad organized a one-week long online Faculty Develop-
ment Program (FDP) on Industry - Academia Conver-
gence: "Bridging the Skill Gap" on 28/06/2020. The
program was sponsored under TEQIP-3.
The Program inaugurated by Vic Chancellor Prof
Dinesh Kumar and Chief Guest of the inaugural session
Vice Chancellor of Sh. Vishwakarma Skill Sh. Raj
Nehru.
In his address, Prof. Dinesh Kumar laid emphasis on
skill development of the students, improving Research
quality and building centers of excellence in the aca-
demic institutes so that the young graduates can easily
fit in the real world of work environment.
Speaking the occasion, Sh. Raj Nehru highlighted vari-
ous issues that are confronted by young graduates in
acquiring job and focussed that not just the students but
also teachers should have practical and industry experi-
ence and good interpersonal skill for better connect with
the students.
The program with its befitting title and futuristic vision
was able to entice audience not just from 12 different
colleges of Haryana but also from Chennai, Kanpur,
Banaras, Lucknow and Ghaziabad.
Chairperson of the Department Dr. Neelam Turk ex-
pressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, experts, who
graced the occasion with their august presence. She also

  • 3. Newsletter International Symposium on “COVID 19 and beyond: The new normal in Higher Education Institutions” J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad organised an International Symposium on “COVID 19 and beyond: The new normal in Higher Education Institutions”. The symposium covered the broad areas of teaching pedagogies of future and wellbeing of students in the wake of Covid-19 Pandemic in two sessions on 10/06/2020 Symposium commenced with the presidential address by Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Dinesh Kumar. He welcomed all the experts and the participants and discussed about the issues and concerns in the HEI’s related to pan- demic. In the first session, Vice Chancellor of Shri vishwakarma Skill University Sh. Raj Nehru was the chief guest and Di- rector of MNIT, Jaipur Prof. Uday Kumar was the Chief Guest in the second session. Dr Linda Amrane-Cooper from University of London, London and Dr Dana Rad, Associate Professor from Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad, Romania were special guests and invited speakers in the Program. Dean (Quality) and Program Coordinator Prof Sandeep Grover informed that the symposium got overwhelming re- sponse and had participants from 16 different states of the country and also from other countries like Germany, Neth- erlands, Malaysia and Thailand. About 900 participants attended the symposium which was also telecasted live on YouTube. Speaking on this occasion, Vice Chancellor applauded the role of Techno-Professionals for providing good connec- tivity of internet during the Pandemic. He stressed on the need of identification of key challenges being faced by teachers and students in the present scenario and to provide solutions to such challenges. Vice Chancellor also emphasised the development of robust infrastructure for technology enabled teaching-learning and said that we have to ensure that students and teachers are fully equipped for the digital transformation in higher education. Also, we have to ensure that cent per cent students get access to education and not a single student is left behind. Accordingly, we have to find ways to impart skills to the students using online mode, he added. 1

Workshop on ‘Writing Good Research Publications and Use of e- Resources Effectively’ To make the students and faculty members aware about the various e-resources available in the University and to en- courage them for writing quality research papers, Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Central Library of J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridahad in collaboration with Digital India Cell has organized a two-day work- shop on ‘Writing Good Research Publications and Use of e-Resources Effectively’. The workshop was inaugurated by Registrar Dr. S.K. Garg and asked the students and faculty members to make best of use of e-resources and encouraged them for writing of quality research papers. All deans and Chairpersons were also present on this occasion. The workshop has been coordinated by Librarian Dr. P.N. Bajpai and Nodal Officer of Digital India Cell Dr. Neelam Duhan. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar has appreciated the initiative taken by the Central Library and Digital India Cell for organizing the workshop and emphasized the importance of conducting such workshops for proper understanding of utilization of e-resources in research work for scholars. In his address, Dr. Bajpai briefed about the workshop. He said that the objective behind organising this workshop was to encourage the students and faculty members for the usage of e-resources available with the University. The invited resource persons for the workshop were Mr. Vishal Gupta, Customer Consultant South Asia from Elsevier, Mr. Prakash Sachan, Senior Sales Executive, North India, Tay- lor and Francis Group and Mr. Jai Pal from J-Gate Discovery. Newsletter 2 Republic Day Celebration The J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad celebrated 71st Republic Day with patriotic fervor and gaiety. The Vice Chancellor of Uni- versity, Prof. Dinesh Kumar hoisted the Tri-colour in the University premises. Vice Chancellor also took the salute at impressive march- past presented by the Security Officials, NCC Cadets and NSS volunteers of the University and addressed the gath- ering.
  • 5. (MoU) with Mazandaran Institute of Technology (MIT), Babol, Iran J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology (JC Bose UST), YMCA, Faridabad has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mazandaran Institute of Technology (MIT), Babol, Iran to promote research, joint projects and exchange of faculty and students on 10/01/2020 The MoU was signed by Dean (Academics) Prof. Vikram Singh of JC Bose UST and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) Prof. Ghasem Najafpour from MIT Babol in the presence of Registrar Dr. S.K Garg and other senior offi- cials of the University. Prof. Naveen Kumar from Delhi Technological University, Director, International Affairs Dr. Shilpa Sethi, Deputy Director, International Affairs Dr. Rajeev Saha were also present on this occasion. This academic tie-up was matured during the 8th International Symposium on Fusion of Science and Technology (ISFT-2020) after the detailed discussion to work in academic collaboration on the areas of mutual interests. Under the agreement, both the Universities, working in field of Science, Technology, Research and Innovation, have shown their commitment to make efforts in developing and expanding research and academic cooperation within a systematic framework. Newsletter Distribution of Ration Packets The University distributed Dry Ration Packets, con- taining atta, rice, dal, salt and cooking oil etc, to the families of construction labours. The University has provided shelter to these families within the campus after the suspension of construction work in various University Projects due to Nation-wide Lockdown In prevaling situation due to nation lockdown im- posed by the Government to prevent corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic, these labours have become jobless and cannot move their native place. 3
  • 6. Webinar on ‘Art of Digital Media Production’ The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Media Studies of J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad organized a webinar on ‘Art of Digital Media Production’ as a part of its ongoing webinar series with the title ‘Samvaad’ from 15/06/2020 to 18/06/2020 Dr Paramveer Potiala from Central University of Punjab, Bathinda and Mr. Suresh Verma from Jamia Milia Islamia University, Delhi were expert speakers in the webinar. The session was presided over by Chairperson of the Depart- ment Dr. Atul Mishra and welcomed the invited speakers. The session was session moderated by Assistant Professor (JMC) Dr. Sonia Hooda. Addressing the session, Mr. Suresh Verma shared his experiences with the students and answered some common que- ries on writing of a compelling script in digital age. Dr. Paramveer talked about different phases of development of camera devices. He elaborated various camera shots and angles, besides art and skills involved in it. Newsletter 4 World day against Child Labour National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of the University organized a webinar to mark the "World Day against Child Labour" on June 12, 2020 In his address, Mr. Phool Kumar insisted on providing education and further career opportunities to every chil- dren. He enthused NSS volunteers to take care of deprived children in their vicinity and offered any kind of coopera- tion and help possible from his front.
  • 7. NIRF Ranking 2020 J.C. Bose University of Science & Technology, YMCA Faridabad becomes first only State owned Government Uni- versity/Institute from Haryana, to feature in the Top 120 Engineering Institutions as per MHRD NIRF Ranking 2020. Also, the University has made its presence in top 100 Management Institutions in the Country. The University has secured its place among the top 120 Engineering Institutions in the Country, after competing with 1071 Engineering Institutions participated in NIRF Ranking 2020 for Engineering Category. This is fourth consecu- tive year when the University has been ranked in the NIRF Ranking. This year, the University has participated for the first time in the Management Category of NIRF Ranking and made its presence in the Rank-band 76-100, the only State owned Institution to get ranked in Management Category.   • 10. International webinar on ‘My industry experience as a soft- ware engineer’ Department of Computer Engineering, J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, Faridabad organized an Inter- national webinar on the topic ‘My industry experience as a software engineer’ for the students of B.Tech CE and IT 6th semester and MCA 4th semester. At the onset, Dean-Faculty of Informatics and Computing Dr. Komal Kumar Bhatia and Mr. Ashbir Singh welcomed the speaker. The webinar was delivered by Mr. Pranav Sheron who is presently working with facebook. Mr. Pranav talked about the basic aspects of Agile in industry. He shared his own experiences how and why western corporations can no longer just rely on the old formula that sustained innovation and growth for decades: a mix of top-down strategies, expensive R&D projects and rigid, highly structured innovation process. The webinar was concluded with a question-answer session in which the students participated with great zeal. Stu- dents also clarified their doubts through one-to-one interaction with the expert. The blood donation camp started at 9.30 am and continued up to 4 pm, which was formally inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Faridabad Yashpal Yadav and Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar in the presence of Registrar Dr. Sunil Kumar Garg and officials of Bharat Vikas Parishad Faridabad.   • 12. Workshop on Machine Learning An online workshop on Machine Learning was con- ducted by the faculty of Informatics and Computing of the University on 23/05/2020. Mr. Vivek Mittal, Senior Staff Engineer at Synopsys India (P) Ltd was key speaker in the workshop and delivered the expert lecture on Basic concepts of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Engineering, Natural Language Process- ing (NLP) and Networks. As many as 151 participants attended the workshop. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar was the Chief Guest in inaugural session. The session was presided over by Dean of Informatics and Computing Dr. Komal Kumar Bhatia. Vice Chancellor said that the technologies like Artificial intelligence and machine learning could play a decisive role in stopping the Covid-19 pandemic and the future of post-pandemic industrial development. He said that in the present crisis, engineering and technocrats have to come forward to provide technology based solutions for the betterment of society. In his expert lecture, Mr. Vivek Mittal talked about how Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning will hold the key to a better future as more and more companies would adopt technology to reduce human interventions. A week-long Faculty Development Program on “Advance Research Methods” organized by the Depart- ment of Management Studies was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar. Vice-Chancellor of D.Y. Patil Education Society, Kohlapur Prof. Rakesh Kumar Mudgal was keynote speaker of the inaugural session from 08/06/2020 to 12/06/2020. Chairperson of the Department Dr. Ashutosh Nigam welcomed the guests and participants and explained the significance of the Program. Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dinesh Kumar empha- sised the importance of advanced research methods by amplifying their use in research for the betterment of the academics. He appreciated the Department for taking such initiative to promote academic research. Prof. Rakesh Mudgal accentuated that knowledge is acquiring of facts and proper implementation and inter- pretation leads to wisdom. He pointed out that technol- ogy should be used in a productive manner. He con- gratulated the University for enriching the participants with tools and techniques to co-create knowledge and evolve the society at large. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad organized a webinar on ‘Art of Digital Media Production’ on 16/06/2020 as a part of its ongoing we- binar series with the title ‘Samvaad’. Dr Paramveer Potiala from Central University of Pun- jab, Bathinda and Mr. Suresh Verma from Jamia Milia Islamia University, Delhi were expert speakers in the webinar. The session was presided over by Chairperson of the Department Dr. Atul Mishra and welcomed the invited speakers. The session was session moderated by Assistant Professor (JMC) Dr. Sonia Hooda. Addressing the session, Mr. Suresh Verma shared his experiences with the students and answered some com- mon queries on writing of a compelling script in digital age. Dr. Paramveer talked about different phases of develop- ment of camera devices. He elaborated various camera shots and angles, besides art and skills involved in it. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Farida- bad organized a one-week long online Faculty Develop- ment Program (FDP) on Industry - Academia Conver- gence: "Bridging the Skill Gap" on 28/06/2020. The program was sponsored under TEQIP-3. The Program inaugurated by Vic Chancellor Prof Dinesh Kumar and Chief Guest of the inaugural session Vice Chancellor of Sh. Vishwakarma Skill Sh. Raj Nehru. In his address, Prof. Dinesh Kumar laid emphasis on skill development of the students, improving Research quality and building centers of excellence in the aca- demic institutes so that the young graduates can easily fit in the real world of work environment. Speaking the occasion, Sh. Raj Nehru highlighted vari- ous issues that are confronted by young graduates in acquiring job and focussed that not just the students but also teachers should have practical and industry experi- ence and good interpersonal skill for better connect with the students. The program with its befitting title and futuristic vision was able to entice audience not just from 12 different colleges of Haryana but also from Chennai, Kanpur, Banaras, Lucknow and Ghaziabad.
