Respect cannot be learned or acquired, but must be earned. Respect is due to all people as human beings, regardless of whether they are liked or disliked. To command respect, one must respect others and refrain from disputes, mingling with others as milk mingles with water. Parents deserve special respect for all they endure in raising their children.
