Winter ‘14 Software Release – Version 8.4
This release is a game changer for our customers. The migration to Form.com comes with a
variety of new features that enable you to leverage Form.com as a business critical application
that brings together the ability to capture form data and manage the entire business process
that surrounds it, both online and offline.
Here is a detailed rundown of the new functionality available in version 8.4:
Online and Offline app portal improvements
Get more control over the look and feel of your offline participant portal. New configuration settings
have been added to let you customize the theme with your corporate logos and branding styles.
Additional improvements include:
Copy responses in the offline application
Allow or Disallow editing, deleting and copying responses inside the portal
Specify how many times within a certain period of time a form may be submitted by
one user
Get access to the list of responses submitted in an online portal and on other devices
within your offline app
Introducing: Tasks and workflow
Task Management is one of the new features added to the application that will allow you to
automate your business processes, regardless of whether they are online or offline.
With Task Management you can:
Define multiple task types in the application
Configure custom statuses and resolutions
Specify a group of contacts to whom the task and due dates will be assigned to
Attach a form and require that form to be completed before the task is closed
View the task history
Send email or create the follow up task when:
- The task is created, closed or its status changes
- The form is completed
- Due date is in less than a given number of days

New features for enhanced usability
A variety of new features have been added to the application interface improving the overall
user experience. Now when you begin building a new form you will notice:
An updated WYSIWYG editor with an all new look and feel
The toolbar will remain visible when you navigate up and down the List of Questions page
and Edit Report page
Save and Next buttons that let you navigate quicker through editing questions
Lookup questions will now allow selecting of multiple objects from the data model
Email invitations can be relaunched to users invited via contact manager
Form fields can be calculated based on previously captured data
More powerful logic for smarter forms automation
A new Actions button in the top toolbar will let you easily manage advanced logic expressions,
branching, email alerts and show/hide logic. Additional logic enhancements include:
Advanced Logic will support greater than, less than expressions for numeric and date fields
Piping can be referred to the files uploaded previously through File Upload question
Email Alerts will support Advanced Logic expressions and can also include a link to the PDF
version of the submitted form
Answer options, show/hide logic rules and answer option identifiers can be imported from
a CSV file

Reporting enhancements
The built-in reporting technology has received a significant increase in horsepower. New reporting
features include:
Filters can now be applied on questions that contain dates or numeric information with
support for less than, greater than and similar expressions
Enhanced PDF printing options now enable your printed reports to have the same look and
feel as your online reports
FTP upload has been turned into Scheduled delivery functionality to allow for the ability to:
- schedule report generation and download it at a later time
- deliver PDF reports
- send email notifications on delivery failures
Version 8.4 also features new Crosstabs revamped with the following features:
Crosstab UI will allow you to select individual answer options without creating groups
for them
Auto generated columns and rows in Crosstabs can be used for lookup questions and single
line questions:

Cells in Crosstabs that match a given criteria can be highlighted:
Total and Mean values per column or row in Crosstabs will be available when needed
Multiple chart types in Crosstabs will be available:
All enhancements introduced to Crosstabs will be available to Statistics Tables.
Expanded plugin functionality
Plugins are system add-ons that add more functionality to your forms solution. In Version 8.4
you will be able to:
Validate if the values in different fields are matching, like password or email check
Multiply values within 3D Matrix
Track time spent on every page of the form
Add Spell Check button at the bottom of the form so that users can spell check their data
before submitting
Split individual forms into tabs for both online and offline modes
