- How do we communicate in a course?All those wayslisted can be done in an online course. And all can be enhanced with audio.
- The 1st part of the audio chain is the sound card. The next time you purchase a computer, put money in an upgraded sound card, since the sound card does most of the “behind the scenes work.” You need a good microphone, its probably the 2nd most important part of the audio chain. you don't have to spend a lot of money on a microphone for voice to computer recording. But look at consumer ratings and reviews to help you decide. Microphone Connector to Computer– either USB or the 3.5mm mini plug.One microphone connector is the TRS connector, also known as the jack, in 1/4" (6.35 mm), 3.5 mm, and 2.5 mm sizes, and in both mono and stereo configurations. - One thing you must consider is how the microphone picks up the sound waves.OmnidirectionalPicks up sound evenly from all directions (omni means "all" or "every"). UnidirectionalPicks up sound predominantly from one direction. This includes cardioid and hypercardioid microphones… recording Direction – Cardiod – picks up sounds from the front, reduces pickup of sounds from sides and rearBidirectionalPicks up sound from two opposite directions.
