Established from the mother organization Social Activities Integration
(SAI) in 2008.
Women Welfare Society is a Community Based Organization (CBO)
owned and managed by sex workers. Women Welfare Society is
technically & financially supported by Aastha Parivaar.

Profile of Sex Workers
Project Caters to Brothel based and Street Based sex workers of CST to Kurla and
Churchgate to Matunga area.
Age group of sex workers – 19 yrs to 55 yrs.
They are migrant from- Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal & Rest Of
Maharashtra
Transaction frequency is 3-5 customers per day.
Customers are charged between Rs 120 – 500. This income is shared with Middle
men, Lodge Managers, pimps & Gharwalis etc.

Gat meetings on every site as per needs
PLHIVs support group meetings
Networking with agencies for support funds.
Organizing events for Community
Fund raising events for increasing Corpus funds.

CHALLENGES
FSWs working on Streets; their mobility rate is very high
Difficulties in dealing with the power structures existing within and around
the area.
Police raids challenge our contacts.
Continuous efforts required to address trafficking
Lack of time and space for sessions.
Reaching regular partners & Stakeholder to motivate them for safe
