CULTURE BOOK (V3/2014)
A WILDSTYLER’S CULTURE BOOK
This document is thought for reading rather than presenting. It’s not about
the usual Wildstyle presentation-beauty. It’s about understanding,
common sense and the future.
This deck was created during the annual Wildstyle Kribbeln ’13. It added
thoughts and inspiration from startups like Etsy, Kickstarter, Netflix and
other adorable sustainable companies with great culture.
BACKGROUND: FORTUNE 500 COMPANIES HAVE NICE
SOUNDING VALUE STATEMENTS. DISPLAYED IN THEIR
MARBLED LOBBY:
I.E. THE FOUR PILLARS FROM ENRON, AN ENERGY COMPANY:

4. EXCELLENCE
(We researched this to get a feeling and understanding of how culture books are written. Well, we saw a lot of bullshit here.)
At the end of 2001, it was revealed that its reported financial condition was sustained substantially by an institutionalized, systematic, and creatively planned accounting fraud, known since as
the Enron scandal. Enron has since become a well-known example of willful corporate fraud and corruption. The scandal also brought into question the accounting practices and activities of
many corporations in the United States and was a factor in the creation of the Sarbanes–Oxley Act of 2002. The scandal also affected the greater business world by causing the dissolution of
the Arthur Andersen accounting company

  • 2. A WILDSTYLER’S CULTURE BOOK This document is thought for reading rather than presenting. It’s not about the usual Wildstyle presentation-beauty. It’s about understanding, common sense and the future. This deck was created during the annual Wildstyle Kribbeln ’13. It added thoughts and inspiration from startups like Etsy, Kickstarter, Netflix and other adorable sustainable companies with great culture.
  • 3. BACKGROUND: FORTUNE 500 COMPANIES HAVE NICE SOUNDING VALUE STATEMENTS. DISPLAYED IN THEIR MARBLED LOBBY: I.E. THE FOUR PILLARS FROM ENRON, AN ENERGY COMPANY: 1. INTEGRITY 2. COMMUNICATION 3. RESPECT 4. EXCELLENCE (We researched this to get a feeling and understanding of how culture books are written. Well, we saw a lot of bullshit here.) At the end of 2001, it was revealed that its reported financial condition was sustained substantially by an institutionalized, systematic, and creatively planned accounting fraud, known since as the Enron scandal. Enron has since become a well-known example of willful corporate fraud and corruption. The scandal also brought into question the accounting practices and activities of many corporations in the United States and was a factor in the creation of the Sarbanes–Oxley Act of 2002. The scandal also affected the greater business world by causing the dissolution of the Arthur Andersen accounting company

NO RANKING AGAINST OTHERS: • We avoid „top 30%“ and „bottom 10%“ rankings amongst Wildstylers • We don‘t want Wildstylers to feel competitive with each other • All Wildstylers should be „Top 10%“ relative to the pool of global candidates • We want Wildstylers to help each other, and they do!
