Chris Schneider, International Motorwerks, presented information on the next steps for fleets looking into Hydrogen as an alternative fuel in Wisconsin for our Future of Alternative Fuels in WI Showcase.
1. The September 2003 Honda National meeting was in San Diego.
I added a waypoint in Torrance to experience the Honda FCX
since it was EPA approved on US highways in June 2002.
Note: the 2 refueling systems in the background.
2. This photo of the Honda Clarity was taken at the 2008 Paris Auto Exposition.
I went primarily to see the international introduction of the 2nd generation
Honda Insight Hybrid but also saw the AXiom booth that worked with
Columbia in Reedsburg on NEV bodies.
3. The 2008 Hydrogen Road Tour didn’t get close to La Crosse, so,
I visited my daughters in Phoenix and was treated to 6 different
hydrogen-powered vehicles including a bi-fuel, liquid hydrogen –
gasoline internal combustion engine. The absence of the
Honda Clarity as well as GM’s Equinox FCV was disappointing
but the Toyota Highlander FCHV, Mercedes A-Class F-Cell, BMW
Hydrogen 7, Nissan XTrail FCV, Hyundai Tucson FCEV and VW
Tourag Hymotion represented a great opportunity to drive all
the competition.
4. This is a photo of the Honda FCEV that was shown January 2014 at the
Los Angeles Auto Show. As you can tell, this was a media frenzy and a
media release picture. I wish to lease this vehicle in La Crosse.
5. It was the spring of 2014
before I got to drive the Honda
Clarity as well as the GM Fuel
Cell. It was worth the wait and
I look forward to the
developments that the future
of automotive transportation is
moving toward. Natural Gas
Vehicles (NGVs) are helping
drivers understand the safety
of gaseous fuel tanks and the
role that CH4 can play in the
future of hydrogen refueling
options.
