During the summer, from May till August, Mexico has a very hot and humid
temperature. The average high temperature stands at 24°C with a little variation
across the regions. Mexico experiences a great level of rainfall all year round but
June and July are considered the wettest months of the year.
Winter starts in Mexico in November and lasts until April. The winter season
features cooler, more comfortable temperatures with the average high at 22°C.
Hurricane season lasts from June until November, though most hurricanes occur
between August and October. If you have to travel during hurricane season,
chose an inland destination but preferably travel at a different time of year.

Mexico is known for its many national holidays so it is almost certain that
you will encounter celebrations of music, food and folklore. The most
important festivities are Holy Week, at the end of March or beginning of
April, the ‘Grito de Independencia’ on September 15th, and the Day of
the Dead, on November 1st and 2nd.
Merry carnivals take place in February, which begin with the symbolic
burning of evil spirits and continue with parades of floats, the crowning
of the king and queen and lots of fun. The most popular are those held
in Veracruz, Mazatlan and Merida.
