4. Kiev Campbell
Growing up Kiev used to watch people such as LL Cool J and started wanting to be
a rapper and doing music. As he got older, he gotten opportunities to apart of
recording labels in his local area. He then faded away from music and began to
participate in the drug game. After seeing that he loved music too much, he decided
to start in the music and entertainment industry.
Staying focused on his goals by realizing that everyone started from a point where
they dreamt of being the next big thing. His motivation and dedication comes from
knowing that his talents will take him far in the aspect of entertainment.

1. What are great skills to have in being an effective manager?
Kiev: Being a great manager means to be understanding but also
being firm in your beliefs. I know that you can come across different
clients that have different outlooks on their career but its your job to
provide them with guidance and direction.

2. How do you separate your personal feelings from your business life?
Kiev: It's hard to separate personal feelings especially when you are so
passionate about what you do, but I had to realize that I have to make better
decisions to ensure the productivity of me and my clients.

3. What do you look for when setting up your business team?
Kiev: I look for productivity and dedication because these things are what shows
me that I can work with you and that we are on the same page. If we work
together on the same accord then that allows us to make a great time and great
brand for our name.

4. What effective techniques do you use in your team meetings to ensure completion in
goals?
Kiev: I use the “Idea Table” technique and thats when I initially start off my meetings by
asking my team members to write down their ideas in the first 5 minutes of the meeting
the we discuss them. Allowing my team to feel as if they are an asset to the company is
important because overall they are an asset and their ideas help make us better and
closer.

5. Why do you feel management is important?
Kiev: Management is important because we need to have order in a business
setting. Without order or “Chain of Command” the business will not last and
become very unstable. People would not be able to trust our brand because it
shows that we would be sloppy and unorganized.

6. What is some advice you would give to people heading into the management
role?
Kiev: I would say be patient and have great listening skills because management
works two ways and thats to talk and to listen. You have to have both because
your team is a representation of you and that company.

11. Lessons Learned
From this interview I learned that being a manager is a very
valuable and responsible role to have. The team can only be as
strong as the person that leads them. Although it may be a tough
job, its very rewarding. Knowing that you are the person that people
look to for guidance and structure is a great and rewarding feeling.
Being looked to as a guiding light and problem solver brings a lot
structure to a company which keeps a stable management.

• time management

14. I am interested in this position but I rather be in the
music field because that is where my heart is. They
contain the same amount time, energy and skill so
this position is not far off from where I would like to
be. So in a nutshell I would do the position.
