WAYNE E. DODD
Wayneis a native Cobb resident and a graduate of South Cobb High School. He
attended Anderson University in Indiana and WestGeorgia University in
Carrollton for his undergraduatedegree.
Waynebegan his professional career during his College days at the Citizens and
Southern Bank of Cobb County, where he developed his banking career, as an
Officer, for 15 years and ended up as a Business Development Officer for the bank
at the Galleria.
Wayneformed a Real Estate Holding company called Wedco, Inc. in 1986, which
he is actively involved in currently, as President.
He was General Manager for Mintel Communications, a Bellsouth-EF&I vendor
from1994-1996 wherehegrew the company from 35 to 200 employees.
Wayneis also currently Presidentof Community Charity Concepts, a philanthropic
group, which he formed in 1997, through which he has supported over 300
charities in the local communities of Cobb, Douglas, Fulton and Paulding Counties.
Waynewas a Community Coordinator doing Public Relations work from1996-
2001 for Kroger, wherehe spear headed many major events for Kroger in their
Charitable outreach in the Atlanta area.
He also owns a 3rd
generation Wood Business in South Cobb, which he has
managed for over 42 years, that has been used to assistmany homeless and
needy families during that time, by giving jobs to folks that could not find
employment elsewhere and helping them to get a fresh start, along with a place
to live.
2. Wayneis currently Marketing Director for Dato, Technology, Inc.-an ITcompany
that he has interest in with his oldest son, Tony since2006.
Waynehas recently taken on the responsibility of being the Community Outreach
Liaison of Government and Community Affairs for Puckett, EMS the South Cobb
911 provider to facilitate new areas of 911 servicein both Georgia and Tennessee.
He is married to Wanda Gail, another Cobb Native for 4 generations and they
have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. Heis a member of the Town Center
Community Church and has held many local, state, regional and national positions
in the Church of God in Anderson Indiana
For the pastseveral years, Waynehas served on several local boards, foundations
and advisory panels including United Way, Wellstar Cobb Regional, Cobb County
Chamber, Cobb County School System, South Cobb Business Association and
many others. He is currently the PastPresident of the South Cobb Business
Association, Membership Chair for WestCobb Business Association and is
Chairman for the Cobb Chamber South Cobb Council for 2013. Heis currently
serving as an Ambassador of the Cobb Chamber and has been the Ambassador of
the month twice in 2012. Hewas awarded the Mack Henderson, Public Service
Award in January, by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce during the Annual Dinner
at the Galleria for his work within the local community. He was a graduate of the
Cobb Chamber Leadership Class in 2002. Waynewas recently voted by the
Wellstar Cobb Regional Board as the incoming Chairman for the 2014 Board.
Waynehas been very active with the local community for many years but still
strives to make a difference, though his charitable efforts, to all types of 501C3’s,
while attempting to make every major event that he sponsors, a regionaleffort
that brings the total community together for one common charitable cause.
One of the latest networking ventures that he has created in its 3rd
year, called
the “October HauntPrivate Party” at Six Flags Over Georgia, which involves all
business associations and chambers of commercein the local area, where
hundreds of business owners cometogether for a fun night of professional
networking.
