● On average it takes 2-7 days to receive a rental reference from the previous landlord.
● Most previous landlords are not willing to provide references due to the fear of being sued.
● There is no way to verify if the person who is giving a reference is the real previous
landlord.
● Currently, there is no landlord reference database available.

Landlords today suffer from bad tenants costing them Billions of dollars annually, in back rent, damages and evictions not to mention the headache.Tenants are suffering also, because bad tenants couse the rent to go up in order for landlords to get a return on their investment.Currently, landlords use tools that are not made for the rental industry, but for a financial industry. Most landlords rely on credit reports, when screening their applicants. But you and I know that those only report the financial side of the applicant, that’s all. Some landlords take an extra step and try to contact the previous landlords to get a better picture about the applicant. But due to fear of being sued most landlords are not willing to share anything about their past tenants. It’s a shame, because who knows the person then the previous landlord? That’s why there is Renter >

Renterinc.com is a central database of tenant’s rental histories that are legally shared by previous landlords. Future landlords can simply search by name and see if there are any positive or negative reviews submitted. In our second version of the website, we will have access to over 55 million landlord references, and by March we’re planning to add 75 million more.
Here is what’s inside the landlord references >Now this is a report that is very useful for a landlord, unlike the credit report. Landlord can get a better idea about the applicant.
The reports are:
fact based to prevent from discrimination
have been verified by fair housing attorney
are submitted by verified landlords

I want to tell you about the market,It’s been estimated that there are 43 million renter occupied units nationwide. And 88,000 in the city of Sacramento alone. Based on the Census data, 24% move annually. And that’s our current target market for 2017. If landlords in sacramento check reports on 21,000 renters, that’s little over $400,000 revenue in Sacramento alone. But most tenants apply from 2-8 places at the same time.
You might be thinking why are we the perfect team to reinvent how landlords share references about tenants? Our team consists of experienced landlords who know the pain that bad tenants bring. Most of the members have experience building startups. For example A.J. was a marketing director at Glassdoor since the launch in 2008. We have a team of experienced developers who are ready to work as long as it takes to build the best product. We also have two remarkable advisors one of who you might know.
So now you know what we’re building, and why we’re building it. In the past year, we’ve launched our beta version of the website. We’re looking for $240,000 to go fast. We want to scale the team, and build integrations with other databases and property management software. And a big marketing push that will bring us to 10,000 users before the end of the year.
We will change the way that landlords screen tenants. I promise you, Renter will become the norm. We have the team, there is a pain. We have a solution. We have a products and we have partners wanting to integrate with us.So if you’d like to take part in this revolution, and want to help us and bring order to rental industry. Come talk to me after.
Thank you very much.
