GRADE 5 PROJECTGRADE 5 PROJECT
2017/18
Part 1 - 1st Term
Internet can be a significant benefit to our students. They have a
a lot of resources available to them online, and those resources can
make it easier for kids to understand concepts. They can go to the
library. But unlike the library, the Internet never closes, so information
is at students’ disposal when they sit down to do their tasks at school
and at home.
The
Moreover, using the Internet to complete schoolwork is that the
Internet can be an extension of the lessons. Educational Web sites
abound on the Internet, and many of these sites are written and
monitored by professional educators. These sites can be valuable
resources for students. Students can visit such web sites to answers
to their questions immediately.
Last year, grade fifth students in our school used a large
number of computer programmes at ICT class. This year they are
going to explore these programmes and applications in order to
develop the choosen topics for them. For this purpose they do the
tasks in groups.
The aims and objectives of this project are:
To increase the student’s knowledge and skills in the use of the internet for
educational purposes.
It will be built through the search for specific information on the internet.
To cultivate the development of understanding and skills to enable students to
discover the information themselves.
It will be appreciated when they go practicing the search for information.
To solve the arising problems themselves.
They will solved through of the trial and error when information is sought.
To build their own activities.
They will be constructed through the programmes and appilcations they
tested last year and this one.
To interchange their activities.
They will developed using the school blogs and sites.
The first part of the project has been developed during this first term. We have
four old computers in the classroom. And these have been the tasks:
1) To draw their portrait like an avatar. (First on a paper and then scanned)
2) To upload to the blog and site.
3) To choose a work team. (2 – 5 members)
4) To choose a topic for the work team’s project.
5) To fill an on line application form with their personal information.
6) To write about what their project is about.
7) To search and download ten pictures and a logo.
8) To search the name of the pictures in English
9) To process the pictures in order to chnge their size 600 px X 600 px.
1o) To create a powerpoint with the pictures and text. (With a model)
11) To transform the powerpoint into a jpg.
12) To search a basic information about each item of the vocabulary.
13) To create a powerpoint with the pictures and basic information and to
transform it into a PDF
14) To upload the PDF to the Calameo support.
15) To create four activities in Hot Potatoes application

Quiz (Questions about the information)
5-A avatars
