- Going deep and hitting the heart is important. We will journey in the next couple hours down a road that is reflective, encouraging and empowering. We are teachers and over the years of teaching our new curriculum gives us the power to connect with the Core Competencies. There are three: Communication, Thinking (Creative and Critical) and Personal and Social (Positive Personal and Cultural Identity; Personal Awareness and Responsibility; and Social Responsibility). With the focus on the last.
- Stop and pause. Reflect. Our children. We saw a testimony of our strength of community as we journeyed with our children, staff and community with the passing of Brooklyn and her mother Nicole. Our children are so important to us as educators, but as human beings.
