This document outlines two experiences for a proposed Green Lantern online experience. The first experience allows the user to navigate from Earth to outer space as they unlock more levels, representing Hal Jordan's journey. The second experience focuses on Hal's test pilot persona, having the user complete missions as a pilot to unlock exclusive content. The experience aims to represent the two sides of Green Lantern: Hal Jordan and the superhero identity.
3. CONCEPT OVERVIEW Imagine a site with two distinct experiences: one that's all Hal; one that's all Green Lantern. The catch: you can only unlock the Green Lantern side once you've reached level 2.
7. This is an ever-evolving world, from Coast City on Earth in Sector 2814—all the way to outer space and Oa. As the user navigates from left to right, he sees more and more come to life. But he can go only so far—depending on which level his codes have unlocked. As he gets to the end of his current world, the user is prompted to enter more codes to continue the journey. Note: This format is linear for the user, while allowing for considerable flexibility re: how much and what content we get from Warner Bros.
13. In this version, we focus more on Hal’s test pilot persona and experience. Users are greeted by the high security checkpoint at Ferris Aircraft, Hal’s employer. On first visit, data capture gets the user past security. On subsequent visits, email address prompts a “Welcome back, Commander Dwyer”… Once in the cockpit, each user must enter his code to clear the jet to fly its "Grab the Green" mission. One code unlocks only a short mission. A second a longer one. And a third unlocks the most ambitious mission: the chance to return with an exclusive Superpower Prize. A "winning" code results in a successful mission, with the user having “grabbed the green”. A "nonwinning" code reveals a video in the form of trailers and/or exclusive content.
