Itron, Inc., Spokane, WA 2000 – 2014
Joined Itron as they were beginning a complete rebrand of their logo. Collaborated with Senior
Management to define corporate goals for the marketing and launch of the “new” Itron. Responsible
for managing Itron Users’ Conference and implementing the new brand in all trade shows and events
that Itron participated in. Itron began acquiring several different companies in 2002, from small to very
large, growing from 1200 employees to 8000 employees worldwide by 2006. It was the Marketing
department’s responsibility to make sure that all acquisitions were branded Itron in a very quick
timeframe, which included all tradeshows, corporate meetings, advertising, direct marketing, on-line
marketing, public relations and social media. Negotiated contracts with hotels and vendors on each
event that was produced saving Itron hundreds of thousands of dollars every year.
Senior Manager, Global Events 2010 – 2014
Managed all International and domestic events (500+) with a designated marketing person in each
region.
Directed all logistics related to Transforming Our Future senior management (200+) program that
was implemented in 2012 and was held all over the world. In 2013, there were 100+ senior
management that began the second phase of the program
Handled all event budgeting, ensuring that the entire team was committed to coming in under
budget
Executed an RFP for a new 60’ x 60’ corporate booth. The corporate design of the new booth
needed to be incorporated into all of our events and had to take into account the different sizes of
booth spaces that we would participate in around the world, showcasing our new technology in the
2. marketplace as it was introduced. Staff had to be hired and trained around the world to manage this
new brand identity.
Rebranded the Itron Users’ Conference to Itron Utility Week to allow a larger group of attendees to
be able to participate.
Mentored new team members that became involved in Itron Utility Week to raise the bar on
everything that had to be produced related to this event as it continued to grow in attendance every
year.
Manager, Corporate Events 2000 – 2010
Managed Itron Users’ Conference, 10+ corporate shows and 250+ market focused shows.
Recruited and trained staff to help coordinate all of the market focused shows.
Created an RFP for a corporate booth (50’ x 50’) that had to be branded with the new logo and was
launched at our largest conference in 2002. Worked with all internal stakeholders, Executive
management, product managers and sales team, to determine what specifications were needed and
executed to those requirements. Booth had to have the ability to be put into several different size
configurations for our corporate shows in the US and International market.
Defined responsibilities and mentored a team of leads for Itron Users’ Conference that had full
accountability for knowledge center, partner pavilion, sponsorships, audio visual, general sessions
(3), breakout sessions (175 simultaneously over a two-day period), pre- and post-conference training,
catering, breakout room management and hotel room assignments for internal staff.
Collaborated with delegated personnel on Distributors’ Conference and other Executive meetings
that were held either before or after Itron Users’ Conference.
Executed and managed all logistics related to all outside vendors on Itron Users’ Conference, all
corporate shows and all executive meetings, to include reconciling all invoices related to these
events.
