withthe testdata providedbyFederal RailroadAdministration(FRA),usingbottomingRankineCycle.
Builta model of the locomotive engine inGT-Powersoftware andanalyzedthe performance parametersby
introducingtwoheatexchangersinthe exhaustmanifold.
Collectedthe testdataandanalyzedthe performance characteristicsof asimilarlocomotiveengine tostudythe
energyavailableinthe exhaustatdifferentnotches.
Currentlyinthe processof estimatingthe energyrecoveredbythe heatexchangers,andtheirinfluence onthe
turbochargerperformance.
Project: NOx Reductionin Diesel Enginesby EGR (Exhaust GasRecirculation).
Testedforthe effectsof exhaustgasrecirculationonNOx emissions ona2.0L single cylinderdual valve diesel
engine.
DevelopedaGT-Powermodel forthe same engine testconditionstosimulate EGReffectsonotherengine
parameterslike fuelefficiency,brake powerandNOx production.
The optimumEGR levelsthatthe engine canbe operatedare determined.
Project: Model baseddesigncontrol for Hybrid Electric PowerTrain System.
Control strategieswere developedusingSimulinksoftware.
The modelswere made tooperate indifferentselective HEV modesincluding regeneration,torque blending
strategy,batterychargingstrategy, motorstart-stop,andgear shiftlogic.
E-motorefficiencycurves,fuelefficiencymaps,velocityprofileswere givenasinputs.
Project: Thermal Analysis of OculusASR Satellite
Objective:To doa thermal analysisforall the componentsof the OculusASRNano-satellite andensure thatitsurvives
the in-space thermal environment.
Simulatedthe in-space environmentusingthe “Thermal Desktop”tool inAutoCADsoftware.
Analyzed andprovidedsolutionsforthe possible thermalbreakdownthe satellite undergoesunderthe thermal
