and what is it that we can accomplish? The goal of
Crime Stoppers is to bring in tips to help the RCMP
investigate cases.
In order to do that, Crime Stoppers has to make
the public aware of the purpose. We have to work
within the confines of our budget to put up signs
and deliver brochures to businesses. We need to
put together a professional package to present to
businesses and service clubs to assist in funding. W

of tips to be paid out. We currently have approved tip
payouts that have not been collected and they remain
as a liability in our records.  How long do they stay
there?  I don’t see anything in our charter for this.
I think most boards carry unpaid rewards on their
books for 2 years.  If not collected in that time, the
unpaid tip is taken back into revenue. Of course, if
the tipster surfaces after that time, he/she should
still receive the reward, but it would have to be
approved by the Board all over again.

What is the purpose of the organization businesses and organizations involved. and what is it that we can accomplish? The goal of Crime Stoppers is to bring in tips to help the RCMP investigate cases. In order to do that, Crime Stoppers has to make the public aware of the purpose. We need to put together a professional package to present to businesses and service clubs to assist in funding. We currently have approved tip payouts that have not been collected and they remain as a liability in our records.  How long do they stay there?  I don’t see anything in our charter for this. I think most boards carry unpaid rewards on their books for 2 years.  If not collected in that time, the unpaid tip is taken back into revenue. Of course, if the tipster surfaces after that time, he/she should still receive the reward, but it would have to be approved by the Board all over again.
