• Hydro-Carbon.70-80 % carbon 10-20% hydrogen
5% of oxygen, Sulfur and Nitrogen etc.
• Black and brown in colour.
• Plastic qualities (expand in heat but never went to
original state)
• Viscous (Thick and elastic)
• Ages- It ages with time so the properties are (In
contact with atmosphere it oxidized.) and make it
brittle, rough and hard.
• Good adhesive in favorable conditions.
• UV rays fasten the process of decay and convert
some form to gas.
4. Asphalt
• Synthetic mix of sand and
bitumen.
• Produced for industrial use.
• Sheets of asphalt produced
for waterproofing and other
industrial purpose.

bitumen.

or open flame at high
