This slide is related to the marker of cutting section of the garment sector. Which tells us about how we can cut fabric with minimum wastage .and introduce us about marker.
15. Computerized marker
making
1. Digitizing: All patterns are placed into
digitizing board and every portion are
send to the memory of the computer
by clicking on a special mouse
around every pieces.
19. Computerized method
Advantages:
• Increases in material efficiency.
• Decreases in material waste.
• Time and labor savings.
Disadvantages:
• Initial investment is high.
• Skilled operator is required.
20. Methods of drawing and
duplicating marker
1. Carbon duplicating method -Spreading and rolling of
carbon paper is difficult, Suitable to copy 3-4 pieces.
2. Spirit duplicating pattern -working procedure is same as
office duplicating machine/Xerox machine, only significant
difference is that the size of the machine.
3. Photograph -With the photographic method, the original
marker is set onto a light sensitive paper using ultra-violet
light and revealed by using ammonia vapor. This method is
quick and clean.
4. Perforated marker -It can be used many times dirty
process and poor line defect.
21. Fabric wastage
outside maker
Ends of ply losses: For the extensibility of the
fabric and limitation of cutting machines, 2 cm
allowances is required in each end of the each ply.
Loss of fabric ends: During preparation of the
fabric lay, the last or end remains of the fabric roll
are separated by cutting.
22. Fabric wastage
outside maker
Selvedge losses : Each fabric has two
selvedges along width. The amount of
cut out is considered 3%
(approximately) along width.
Purchase loss : Less fabric may wound
on roll than identified length.
24. The success of the jobs of a marker man is
determined by the marker efficiency. we can
express it in percentage. The following
formula is used to measure the efficiency.
Area of pattern in the marker
Marker Efficiency = -----------------------------------------X 100%
Total area of the marker plan
Marker efficiency ↑ fabric wastage ↓ profit ↑
25. Factor related to
marker efficiency
• Marker planner.
• Size of the garments.
• Marker length.
• Pattern Engineering.
• Fabric characteristics.
• Marker making method.
• Marker width.
